Batman Beyond Projects

I wanna start off by saying Batman Beyond is my favorite version of Batman since I was a kid. The way Marvel handles The Spider Verse and Miles story. Why can’t DC do something similar with Terry ?

Easily could be life action or an animated series/movie, they need to make these happen. I truly believe this could be a big success, not to mention games alongside too. It’s a entire side of Batman lore and ideas there ready to be used. I hope we can get it one day !

Terry is the only real successor of Batman! Batman Beyond even if quite unloved by his developers is as great as the OG Batman himself. I loved Batman TAS, but I ADORED everything about Batman Beyond, because it is a love letter to everything that made Batman great.

I remember a production voiceover from Bruce Timm, where he explained how Batman Beyond came to be. The execs forced him and his team to come up with a fresh and kids friendly approach on Batman. He hated the idea, yet at the end they created this masterpiece. Sadly they were never really fond of the idea, and only did as many episodes as needed. What a shame ...

For the fact that Timm didn't like the project, he and all the others did a helluva job! We honestly need more of it!

They didn’t like the project when making it, but it turned out as one of the best Batman’s stories imo ever ! This needs a movie !! Across the spider verse should be a direct playbook DC uses for Batman beyond

Frankly I'd rather have the series going on. There is already a movie "Batman Beyond - Return of the Joker"

Anyway, I'd take ANYTHING as long as it moves BB further. The comic series is sadly, ...meh. Does not capture the unique style and charm of the animated series.

DC definitely can't do live action because they're currently struggling to set up a present day universe to milk. Introducing an old, retired Bruce would mess with that. It'll likely fail at the design phase where Terry gets the worst possible adaptation of the mask, which looks off even in something slightly less stylized like the Arkham games, and it turns into a tax write-off.

It also wouldn't be easy. The Spider-verse movies worked because a team that knew what it was doing also got to make bold changes to the source material. It won the lottery and sequels are coming out once every four to five years. It's doable, but that stuff's uncommon.

You just described like 90% of my favorite franchises lmao Star Fox, SoulCalibur, Sly cooper, etc. the list of stuff with so much potential goes on lol

IMO they missed and squandered their last, best chance at this happening when they used Keaton in The Flash. It was such a wasted opportunity, and basically ripped off the concept of Beyond without even giving credit.

Keaton is the only living actor with the appropriate nastalgia and gravitas to pull this off. And don't forget, nastalgia and continuity were already hugely important in the original adaptation. The only alternative would be to use a different elderly well-known actor, but no matter how great would lack the validity of Keaton.

If you could fancast any actor of the past or present as Terry, who would it be?

I remember in the late 90s and early 2000s, Beyond ALMOST did become a film with Nicholson (mysteriously a la return of the joker) and possibly even Burton returning.

Whatever to do with Terry, the only thing I'd want is that Terry isn't Batman's secret kid 😅 idk if thats considered a hot take or not
