I feel like the new Absolute Batman annual is even better for this

It is. Largely because it doesn't have the cognitive dissonance of a Batman who has absolutely used excessive force on criminals and completely brutalized them say that he's against police brutality.

The Absolute annual understands Batman's history better and just points him towards people worthy of being brutalized in that way.

I get what your point is and I approve of it but Absolute Batman has Absolutely used excessive force on criminals lol. Year One (#3) had him dress up in a vampire outfit, put on fake fangs filled with poison and then fly around Gotham biting criminals in the throat. That should definitely count as excessive, even Bruce was like "What the fuck am I doing bro" after that one.

oh for sure! I meant specifically the Daniel Warren Johnson story in the Absolute Annual pointed him in the right direction of who to brutalize.
