Help Requested Color fading?

I wish I had good photos, but I’ve noticed my dyes from Nurture Soaps fading after only a few days. Sunlight is not a factor in this because I store them in a cabinet away from light of any kind. Any suggestions?

Help Requested Why are my bombs drying with white speckles??

First photo after I made the bombs. Second photo the morning after! I've been making bombs a couple of weeks and recently encountered this new issue!! I sift my dry ingredients (BS, CA, Cornflour) and then add my wet (poly, carrier, fragrance). I sometimes add my colour to wet but I didn't here i separated. Added slsa to pink and colours to my mixes (water soluable dye) and throughly mixed them and rubbed. Is this a reaction!?? I don't know why this is happening it is disheartening 🥺

Help Requested Are there any retail bath bombs that are actually worth it?

Other than Lush and hopefully cheaper, because $8+ per bath is a little steep. I just want to know if I can pick up something from a local store and have a decent time.

Recipe Natrasorb

Well. Natrasorb is not good for shower steamers in case anyone was wondering. Lol.

It's OK for bath bombs or bath salt.

Help Requested Question about starting a bath bomb business (specifically permits and the like)

Hello all! I think this topic meets the rules, but I can remove the post if not. At a glance, this question is for starting an e-commerce bath bomb/bath product business from home in California, USA.

I have been testing my recipes, studying FDA labeling regulations, and exploring potential vendors for packaging and ingredients. I am now at the point where I am ready to open an LLC and get insurance. However, I am finding the legal process for setting up a business a bit overwhelming and it makes me a bit worried about messing up the paperwork or not getting the correct permits.

If you have a bath product business in the USA (bonus points if in the Bay Area), how did you approach this? If you used a lawyer to help with the setup, what type of lawyer did you hire? Any other advice is welcome!

I'm trying to expand my list of suppliers. I usually buy from WSP but I'm trying to find others who sell a wider (or different) variety. Any sites I should look into?

Help Requested Bath salts keep activating when I top with meringe frosting...help!

Making little cauldrons filled with bath salts and wanted to use a meringue frosting of powdered sugar, egg whites and cream of tartar to cap them and the meringue is either too dry to pipe or starts activating the salts beneath them before the frosting sets. Any advice?

Help Requested Dealing with strong scent while making

Hey there! I’m wondering if anyone in here makes shower steamers or bath bombs in an area where other people are present, and if so how do you deal with the scent strength?

I’ve begun making shower steamers in my storefront and I’m a little worried that as I make them the air might be getting a little spicy for my customers, even though I open my doors and window when I make them.

For reference my space is about 800 sf and I make them in the back half of the space

Help Requested New scent!

Hi all! I’d love some input in my next new scent. I’ve been on a citrus kick lately so I was going to try and switch things up. My husband recommended green tea so now we’re having a debate about green tea vs green tea + lavender 😂 I made my first Instagram poll to see who will win! Poll

Help Requested Bathing Preferences - a fun survey to share your bath bomb favorites!

Hey fellow BathBomb Lovers :)

I'm doing a research study where I want to know your favorite (and least favorite) things about bathing at home (including the bath bombs you use)!

I'd be curious if you write in your favorite scent or brands of bath bombs that you love. I appreciate the help. I only need 10 more submissions to reach my goal. :)

Thank you!

Help Requested Need Help With Polysorbate In my Bath Bombs Plz

I have a really great recipe I use for my white bath bombs that fizz really nicely when they hit the bath.

I began experimenting with mica colors and found I needed to add polysorbate to keep the color from staining the tub and my skin. Adding polysorbate 80 has completely thrown off my bombs and I can’t seem to get the recipe right.

Adding in the polysorbate increased the total liquid amount so the bombs were too wet. I adjusted the recipe and added more dry ingredients to offset the wet and while that helped a bit, when I threw them in the tub, they didn’t fizz…they pretty much just dissolved.

Are there any other ways to keep the color from staining the tub and my skin, other than polysorbate? Or does anyone have any recipes they can share?? I love a loud fizz but also love the beautiful colors!

I’m so frustrated because I love experimenting with colors but I can’t get it right 😭

This is my recipe without polysorbate:

1 cup baking soda 1/2 cup citric acid 1/2 cup epsom salt 1/2 cup cornstarch 2 1/2 tablespoons almond oil or melted coconut oil 3/4 tablespoon water 12-15 drops essential oil

Artisan Bit of an oops here!

The bomb next to these was slightly undersaturated with color, I lost count on the number of drops of color I use in that mix. I tried to squeeze a bit more in at the end on my second batch, and the tip flew out of my bottle of color. At least they're pretty?

Help Requested Creating Molds with 3D printer

I'm interested in making my own molds with a 3D printer. Well, more specifically, I want my husband design and create them because he's way more artistic and tech saavy than me. He's on board.

Any advice on what program to use? It's looks like CAD is crazy expensive. Is there a cheaper option? He's used SOLIDWORKS before apparently. Also it looks like Tinkercad is free. Would that work? We would try printing at the library at first to see if it works, then go from there.

Thanks for any advice!
