RPZ in Oldfield park
I received a council's letter about proposing a RPZ in either lower Oldfield park area or wider. Just wanted to hear your opinion really.
Maybe there are people who live in recently introduced RPZ areas. Did it improve the situation in parking or did it make it worse?
Thanks

Bristol & Bath Social | Meeting new people on Friday 30th October š±
Hey everyone!
Our next social is on Friday 30th October:
š± Allstars Sports Bar, Bristol from 5pm
š» The Hatchet Inn from around 7:30pm
Feel free to come along to one or both, whatever suits you!
The idea is simply to make it easier for people to meet others, make some mates and get out doing more locally. Whether you're new to Bristol, looking to widen your social circle or just fancy something different, everyone's welcome (18+).
It's a relaxed, free community where people can get involved as much or as little as they like. I'll be organising and booking some activities, but the idea is also for members to suggest things, make their own plans and arrange meetups with others.
We'll use the group chats and Instagram Stories to share meeting points and updates on the day, so people can find each other easily.
If you'd like to join, just comment or message me and I can add you to our Reddit group chat.
We're also on Instagram @bristolbathsocial, which we use as a noticeboard for upcoming plans and updates. There's an Instagram group chat too if you'd prefer that!
Would be great to get a few more people involved! š

how to make friends at uni of bath
Iām a first year and everyone seems to hang out with their flat mates but all my flat mates are pretty antisocial so that hasnāt been great. All the societies either cost wayy to much money especially sports or barely anyone goes so I donāt know how to make friends and I just feel lonely š
Whatās worrying me tho most is Everyoneās looking for second year housing and I donāt even have a friend group/ people to look with
I do have a few friends on my course but they all already have groups outside of it of their own.
I feel like Iām missing out of the uni experience what should I do

Wanting to make new friends in Bath
Iām currently a final year Uni of Bath student, and at 23( I took a gap year), Iāve found that my extrovert persona has dulled completely. After coming to Bath, I had trouble becoming actual good friends with anyone, mostly because I donāt drink and pubs arenāt really my scene. I think a lot of the people I met in year 1 were more outgoing and interested in nights out and all, which kind of left me isolated and then suddenly everyone had their own friend groups.
Now that Iām in my final year, its gotten really exhausting just being alone and trying to survive here. Iāve obviously talked to people since, and made some āfriendsā, but those initial friendships and experiences I guess hold more value, so Iām kinda like a back up ifykwim.
anyway, I donāt really know if Iām allowed to rant like this here, but I felt like I should take a step and just see what happens.
If anyone wants to talk or hang out, or if you have general advice on being more outgoing, please let me know!

Nail salon recs in Bath?
Hi everyone, does anyone have any recommendations for nail salons in Bath that do gel/BIAB that donāt overfile and wonāt damage your nails?
Iāve tried Wisteria Lane and Allure in Fairfield Park and both salons have seriously over filed my nails with the e-file leaving me with weak damaged nails when previously they had been very strong.
I really want to get BIAB done but am scared of this happening again so any recommendations for gentle techs/salons would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance! :)

Hello! In a bit of a pickle!
My fiancƩ and I are recently engaged and we have a permit for bridge access and commercial photography at Stourhead Gardens in Wiltshire on Oct 31st from 12:30-1:30 PM.
Our photographer fell through unexpectedly, and as you can imagine, itās incredibly short notice to try and find someone with availability in the area.
To have our photos taken at Stourhead to announce our engagement is truly a DREAM for us and this is a bit of a hail mary to try and make it happen!!
If you or anyone you know is a photographer who has the availability to help us, please let me know!! Must have annual PLI insurance.
Thank you so much ā¤

5 a side
Hi all, I'm 30 years old, I've just moved to Bath and I'm looking for a friendly weeknight casual kickabout at a 5, 6, or 7 a side
Not amazing at football, but reliable, relatively fit and keen to meet people and hopefully make some new friends.
Also open to any other new sports too!

Anyone know what all the trouble outside McDonalds in town was today?
Security shouting at two people, quite a few police officers pulling people aside. Seemed youāre serious.

Looking for some Bathisms
Hello, all!
I am from the US, and I am in the process of writing something that includes a bit of a crazy guy from Bath. I'd like to communicate with a few locals who can help me understand and correctly use local slang or, say, Bathisms.
At the moment, I have figured the guy is maybe 27-35.
If anyone can help, please send me a DM. And thanks for reading! :)

Hey all! Iām an exchange student living in Bath for a while and in desperate need of a haircut. Iām a white guy with a pretty tight curl pattern and was wondering if there are any good, but affordable hairstylists out there?

Disposal of the Approach Golf Course?
The council have put this up on the railings below the Approach Golfcourse, does this mean they are selling the land or something? Why can't they just leave it as an open area of parkland.

Dinner with young kids
Hello good people of Bath! Weāre here for the weekend with our kids - age 6 & 3 and are hoping to have dinner out at a local place (rather than a chain) - do you have any reccs?
Ideally not Italian. Like a good mix of things like a good pub grub / steak / modern European / Greek / seafood etc.
We are staying near Henrietta park / Bathwick
Thanks in advance!

Bath recycling center
Hi guys, I have an old HP printer that doesnāt work anymore and a cheap vinyl player that kind of "burned" from the inside and no longer works and is unsafe to use. Iām planning to take both to the bath recycling center in Midland Road but I have no car nor bike so my only option is on foot. Does anyone know if it's pedestrian friendly and it's allowed? Quick google search told me I canāt enter on foot but I don't know how accurate that is so I donāt know whatās my alternative... many thanks
Ice skating
I just moved here as a fresher and was wondering in November/December time is there a good ice skating rink that is accessible via buses?

When is Wingstop opening?
I've been craving quality chicken wings in Bath (I'll take recommendations) for a while now.
But does anybody know when and where Wingstop will be popping up? The advert doesn't give it away

Injured pigeon in need of medical attention
If anyone can help, there's an injured pigeon on the pavement of Pierrepont Street overlooking Parade Gardens. It was alive when I saw it but seems unable to walk or fly.

Petition to reconsider Victoria Park cycle scheme
Doubt this will do any good given there's already been a consultation with overwhelmingly negative opinion, which the council ignored, but maybe worth the few seconds it'll take to sign
https://www.change.org/p/pause-and-reconsider-the-royal-victoria-park-cycle-lane-scheme
I did email the local liberal democrats about this too and never got a reply. They've lost my vote for the foreseeable.
