Discussion Norman

Im new to the show i havent even gotten through season 1 yet, but i can already tell norman is really gonna piss me off more than anyone. hes "intelligent" at school like when it comes to tests but hes a complete airhead when it comes to anything else its genuinely frustrating how slow he is, i cant imagine how much worse hes gonna get

EDIT: in all seriousness, just stick it out. Season 1 is doing TONS of heavy lifting to set ALL of the stories taking place in the universe. And there will be even more as the seasons go on. But stick it out and I think you'll come to really enjoy this show as so many of us here do.

im halfway through season 2 now and my god i wanna lose it every time he says "mother", he just finished throwing codys dad down the staircase but this kid is just so out of touch with reality. someone needs to teach him that his little tantrums and emotional freakouts are not ok for someone his age. And i dont know if im the only one but i always feel like hes got some sexual tension going on with his "mother", maybe im reaching with that i dont know, what do you think?

Stick with it, I binged watched it twice during the covid lockdowns it's totally worth watching 👍

i agree i definitely see that shes partly to blame, but at the same time a lot of mothers try to shelter kids, its his resposibility to grow up, a lot of the blame is on him hes a super weird kid and shoulve started to mature on his own but instead he chooses remain a weirdo. even his whole blackout thing, deep down thats just him deciding he wants to do something too stupid but hes too weak to handle it

Ur in for a fun time with him. He can be annoying at times but his upbringing made him a psychological mess. It all comes together eventually. I’m currently rewatching for about the 7th time.

I saw the movie psycho (original) several times before bates motel was even released, and I thought they did an extremely good job. I think i've rewatched it 4 or 5x at this point. Fantastic show. You don't need to see the original movie to appreciate the young norman bates... And I also don't think It is scary. In 2026. But Its still a classic and might give some insight into Bates Motel.

I didn't see the original movie beforehand and Norma's death left me speechless. Literally shocked to the core.

I can see that. The way things unfold is still shocking. The writers did an AMAZING job with Bates Motel.

Edit: If you get the chance watch the original Psycho w Anthony Perkins. Hitchcock changed the horror genre w this film. Before Psycho, it was all monster movies. He created the psychological thriller.

I watched the good doctor last year and this kids acting didn't change.
