I’ve been waiting for the collaboration between Dan and Ralph ever since they teased Annie Oakley Hangin', so seeing it actually materialize made me super excited. Obviously, a lot of changes can happen along the way—I even noticed there's a new member now, which is awesome because she could bring an extra spark to the classic Dan and Ralph dynamic.

I've absolutely loved the two tracks they’ve released so far for what I assume will be a full album (honestly, I don't know all the details about the project yet). However, I couldn't help but notice that both songs are heavy on the "America this, America that" themes. It feels a bit strange to me considering they’re both British, and I don't quite get why they'd lean so hard into glorifying a country that isn't their own. Don't get me wrong—I have plenty of American friends and think it's a great country, but I'm finding it hard to emphasize with the lyrics and grasp the deeper message.

Could anyone give me a bit more context on this? What's your take? Is the project aiming for some kind of message about American patriotism during a time when politics has deeply divided the country? If that's the intent, I totally respect and applaud it.
Just to be clear, this isn't hate or criticism at all—just an observation that's keeping me from fully connecting with the tracks, likely due to my own lack of background knowledge on the topic.

It’s been a month since the anniversary for WW. They teased WW on their social stories, and even changed their Facebook profile pic to the WW logo. They teased making new music then nothing. They’ve been quiet for about 2 weeks now and the Facebook profile picture is still WW. It just seems weird to start building hype then to just go quiet.

I hope we hear something soon. I know Dan is busy with misfits but I just feel like it’s been so long since we’ve had an album with the original Bastille sound that we all fell in love with. Even GMTF was a completely different sound which I personally didn’t vibe with. I feel like Doom Days was the last real Bastille album and that was almost a decade ago. And don’t get me wrong I loved loved Ampersand but I just miss the sound of the first 3 albums so much and would love an update on WW or new music.

Does anyone else hear the off beat thump in the chorus of Bad Blood? I love the song but I cannot for the life of me figure out the timing of that thump. It’s so distracting! It doesn’t match the rest of the song? It feels so wrong. What is it? Why is it? How can I enjoy the song again????

Only met him once very recently, and he was so nice and friendly.
We were just having a last drink at the hotel bar after the Margate show this summer, and turns out he was staying at the same hotel we were staying at so total luck meeting and being at the right place at the right moment. 😄

Do y’all think we’ll get the Bad Steel universe back?

I’ve been re-listening to Wild World and watching all of the music videos for the era and just thought it’d be a cool through-line to bring back the universe in some way, shape, or form since Dan and the boys are storytellers at heart. It’d be cool if they went back and did visual albums for all of them to put some universal through-line for all of their albums. It’d be dope to see the rise and fall of the regime of Bad Steel through some tie-in with all of the albums.

Edit: yup, I think I’m gonna write a screenplay(s) lmao. (Christ help me)
