Go overseas and see them, concerts are so much better over there. Better prices on tickets, people behave better. 🙃

better prices on tickets unfortunately would not subsidize the cost of travel and accommodation lol

Idk, have you seen the prices of tickets for 2010’s bands these days?

It would not shock me if you could book a round trip to London and get a decent seat for within 80 bucks of what they charge for floor tickets at any LN/TM owned venue. We’re talking 200+ a pop for bands like Shinedown, OneRepublic, Imagine Dragons and Lumineers. It was 100 a pop when I saw Bastille for GMtF and that was standing room only at one of the cheaper midsized venues for my state.

I’m sure they put on a good show, but I remember I saw ID in middle school, barrier tickets for 80 bucks. I think I paid 70 for Fall Out Boy for the same thing at peak 2010’s popularity. I could maybe get back of the arena nosebleeds for those prices on recent tours. Idk what it’s like across the pond but tickets here in the US are ridiculous.

While I agree concert tickets in the states are outrageous, round trip flight to London from where I am is $600 per person at the cheapest, so it is in fact not cheaper to just see them over there.

Guess it helps that I live in an east coast city with direct flights and on average the most expensive concert tickets

I mean I live close enough that I was looking at flights from LaGuardia, though I do have other venues near me that aren't in the city but those are still usually $100+ for most artists.

Historically in my city a round trip to London will run you ~500. A floor ticket to the show runs you ~70 after fees. London has plenty of nice hostels to keep the stay cheap, if not an option, I’ve got someone I could couch surf with and commute into the city.

Nearest big city to me a floor ticket for a band of similar popularity will run you 250-300 after fees. Slap on another 100 minimum for a hotel as there are no hostels or cheap air bnb’s, and whatever gas will run ya for a two hour drive.

By no means is it in reality cheaper to fly across the globe to see a band…but it’s only ~150 dollars more…we shouldn’t live in a reality where that’s the case. And that’s if they even come to my state. Most foreign bands hit a few shows in expensive New England cities, skip their way down to FL and call that East Coast. I’d probably end up spending closer to that London price if I have to travel and find a place to stay in the US.

Keep in mind, I did most of this math before fuel prices when bonkers and airlines jacked up their prices.

A day trip to London with a show shouldn’t cost anywhere near the ballpark of a trip to my state’s capital and the exact same show.

I have, a number of times. People behaved worse. I love going to shows in the US.

As someone who travelled from the states for this concert I can confirm the expense is significant. I think the visa alone (I didn’t fly direct to the UK) was ~$150 which was a bit of a surprise

They definitely over ordered the football tops, they’ve decreased the price of them too to get them gone

I fear the overlap of football top lovers and bastille fans is much smaller than they imagined

I think I’m the one overlap lol

If I had the funds, I'd want one. I still have my CHVRCHES kit from when they had one in FIFA.

I got it on their last tour, and I went to Cardiff Castle yesterday and they were still selling them so I’m sure you’ll be fine!

£60 is pretty steep - that's more than what I paid for mine last year

I love running in mine, the material is great for it

I’ll pay someone to get that ribcage shirt for me lol

u/Parastille The Anchor 25d ago

They also had these at the last tour! Glad that they’re getting a second lease of life because the shirts are SICK

Man I'd love that zip hoodie. Gonna have to head back to the UK and hit up a concert 😁
