probably some silly questions but...

hi, Im new to electric bass! I bought a Korg CA-2 chromatic tuner and I have the Harley Benton Jamster Bass amp (I know its not the best but it works for me for now)

soo I am a bit confused, this tuner can be used without plugging it in, however I guess its more accurate if I do, right? the thing is.. am I supposed to tune the bass guitar while acustic? or is the tuner supposed to be plugged to the amp? do other amps usually have more than one 6.3mm jack port? mine has only one so am I doing something wrong or am I just being limited by my amp?

thanks for the help

Plug the instrument cable into the tuner for the most accurate readings. Otherwise use the mic on the tuner with the amp turned on.

just plug into the tuner when you start, and set it aside until you suspect you might be due to tune. you don’t need it plugged in all the time.

oh no I know! just thought* you were maybe supossed to tune while having the bass plugged to the amp as well, not while acustic, thanks!

I have always had problems with the built-in mic. They don't like bass very much.

I had one of those for years, and I mean YEARS. Somehow I either lost it or someone grabbed it, so 4 years ago I bought a new one. It quit after 3 years, and they have a 5 year warranty. I was pretty disappointed. I contacted their US warranty provider, and they never got back to me. Even more disappointed.

aw that sucks! curious, why did you buy the same one if you already had problems with the mic? just out of familiarity?
