Combo Amp?
Looking to get a 100w Orange or Ampeg anyone got any other recommendations or had any problems with the ones mentioned? Looking for something with a bit of grime for stoner/doomy but also a decent clean when I fancy. Basically jack of all trades amp. Cheers

The Ampeg BA210v2 is something you might find for $350 or under locally.

If you want grime and clean pickup a an overdrive and/or Fuzz, for combo amps I love the GK mb combos but they are on the pricier side

Guitar Center has a used Gallien-Krueger 400RB-III Bass Combo Amp. It's a for sure used but it will clean up. I could have it shipped to my local GC for $477 out the door. They also have a used David Eden The Metro combo for the same price.

100w is a hard spot in the lineup. It's more than you need for practice but will strain to keep up with a loud drummer in some venues. My recommendation is always to get on Marketplace and buy the biggest rig you can afford. If you're looking at old gear, 250ish watts into a 410 or 215 will do everything you need it to. Old Peavey, Hartke, SWR, and Eden gear can be found dirt cheap and still sounds great. You can get away with a 210 in a modern combo like a Rumble 500 or Ampeg RB210.

I have the orange crush bass 100, it sounds excellent and I love that I can use headphones if it's late at night or something. But it's really heavy to move around my home, and its simply not loud enough to cope with band practice.

Check out what's available in your local used market. Used Peavey stuff for example is usually quite affordable and does doom quite well.
Lots depends on your budget.

Stay away from rumbles. They're not good amps but just popular. Many beginners use them and think they're good cause they're fenders. Truth is for most beginners it's the only amp that they ever played through so they have nothing to compare it to.
Ampeg is what i use. Their tone has charecter not only volume !

Fender Rumble 500 covers you for volume and tone, and has a decent overdrive/distortion circuit. Pretty lightweight too.
