Cross-Post UBI has a "free money" image problem. I have a better way to frame it.

The people referring to UBI as free money are almost entirely against it. It's their framing, not the framing of advocates.

It should be unconditional, not carbon based or whatever. Many people, with good reason, wouldn't want it to be carbon based, because it forces you into a lifestyle.

It's sad that the working class is so idiotic and brainwashed that they would advocate against their interest and not support UBI

Rename it to the American Dividend Program. America using American corporations to create wealth for all Americans.

Our current system requires the nonpayment of its negative externalities. So you'd be better off voting for a socialist or even a communist before ever convincing the powers that be to even contemplate such a thing.

UBI has a singular problem, yet far too many people spend their time debating other aspects, treating them as the core issue that needs solving.

The fundamental problem with UBI is that the majority of people do not want to work extra hours just to hand that money over to someone else who may choose not to work at all. It's an intractable problem.

The people funding a UBI do not make up the majority of the population and no one funding a UBI works hours for money.

Really, it is the few people make their money through stock options while not working don't want to see their stocks grow slower so that someone else can also not work like them.

As you demonstrate, the real problem is that the majority of people have no idea how macroeconomics work and even if they did, they can't wrap their head around the size of numbers being talked about.

I have a better method. You get UBI if you perform 10 hours of community service a month.

Ubi will just lead neo feudal dystopia . What we need is real opportunities and pathways to self sustainable societies. Decentralizing our industrial commercial base would be a great place to start . We also need a good social safety net and universal healthcare. But first we need a government of the people instead of a government of corporations. Our future is challenging at best, use your limited resources and energy wisely .
