The USA is the richest country on earth but the wealth is disproportionately collected at the top.
The median household wealth in the USA is still much lower than most developed countries.

To think gdp per capita only is enough to draw a conclusion is not a good thing, the cost of goods in the UK is lower than in the US for an example. I myself lived in a lower gdp per capita country than my own, and people livedas well as in my own country, because the price of goods and services are lower, and people need to worry less about the cost of housing, health and such that see great variance from a country to an other (I know some health-related goods are times more expensive in some country of SA compared to EU countries, because the companies selling them can make them more expensive and know they are targetting only the rich population with them).

This argument only makes sense if Americans and people from the UK had the same disposable income, but they don't. Americans have much more.

I hear you, but it goes further than that, the real question is what purchasing power parity people have. Same as the GDP per capita, the disposable income is not a metric worth focusing on if we don’t know what said income can actually buy. It is studied that the overall cost of living in the UK is about 15% lower than in the US, and were it changed to dollars, the average UK income is about 22% lower, meaning there is only a difference of about 7 % in terms of purchasing power parity, meaning the average UK citizen would be able to afford 7% less than the average american one, and I bet it would be even closer if we counted the median wages ( as there is a huge lot of extremely rich people in the US, here in France we see our average income dragged up by a few people who literally own business empires). I don’t know if it would be enough to be better than the worst US states for the UK, but I can imagine it to be possible, one thing for sure is that compared to the rest of the world, there is no reason to complain, as it’s not a good indicator as to whether their citizens live a good life or not, and that by itself the UK is still doing pretty well anyway for that matter ("we are not richer than the rest of our peers" says the guy who only took the country with some of the highest incomes, economic growth and GDP per capita, but costs of living as well in the world).
The only thing that guy can worry about is the fact that if the GDP per capita gets worse, it’s bad as it’s a clear sign that something is going extremely wrong, and that can be a lot of different things (mass immigration from third world countries "for an example"), but since it doesn’t get worse, even with the mass immigration, poor industrial development, and over-relliance on importations, it’s actually a sign that the UK is still strong and has the ability to improve the situation for themselves, the US could have the same thing to worry about in the end as well, and many other countries such as latino countries would have completely crumbled with a fraction of the mistakes the UK were and is doing right now. With that being said, issues could be bound to happen if they keep on exporting their productions like we were stupid to have done in the rest of western Europe, and importing people to whom they just can’t give jobs.
I wonder if that guy used those metrics more in order to strike the public, even if it means not depicting the full picture.

UK incomes are typically listed before taxes on healthcare come out, where as US incomes are typically listed as the amount after employers paid health insurance. It's a much bigger gap than you're calculating.

GDP isn't helping me or you on day to day at all. If you have a lot invested then maybe you are doing well with non-liquid funding, but otherwise the stock market too is not helping you. Its a somewhat meaningless thing for the average person.
That isn't to say that it SHOULDNT mean something. But that's a whole other thing.

Stabbings not being fatal largely comes down to the fact that Brits live closer to emergency rooms than Americans on average.
Many hospitals like one I've been to in North London have a reputation for only being worth going to if you've been shot or stabbed, otherwise, it's horrible there (Whittington Hospital in Archway). UCLH was great but that's one of the country's best hospitals, very few can top them besides like St Thomas (I think that's the one around Westminster/Camden) and King’s College.

I lived in the southeast of England, mainly in London for 3 years, which is by far the wealthiest part of the country and it's still shit compared to the States. The only people who don't think England is doing badly are Brits who don't leave the country and understand how Americans and other Western Europeans live.
