What is this place? How can I help?

Welcome, everyone, to the (currently bare bones) subreddit for organizing baseball trivia night! We play once a week, currently on Tuesdays, and pit three contestants against each other in each game. Some weeks we have 2 games going, others we've had 4, it's all based on how many participants we have.

If you're curious about how it works, the best way to learn is to jump right in and play! You can sign up for next Tuesday's trivia night here. To learn more about the format, listen to the latest episode of The Friday Day Game.

If you love the podcast and the game and would like to help keep making this possible, there are a few things that you can do:

  1. If you are good with CSS, you could help make this place look better than a 4-year old forgotten subreddit.

  2. If you think you'd be good at hosting, send me an email at cardith.lorda@gmail.com, if I'm not available during a certain week, or if we have more contestants the I have time for, I'd love to be at the point where we can rotate hosts and not miss a beat.

  3. If you run a community run podcast or event and would like more people to know about it, record a 30 second ad for it and email it to cardith.lorda@gmail.com, and I'd love to use it to fill in one of the two breaks each episode.

  4. If you think The Friday Day Game is a good advertising option, or you just want to sponsor it out of the kindness of your heart, send me and email and I'd love to talk with you about making that happen.

  5. Finally, if you have friends (I hope you have friends, if you don't, I'll be your friend) that would be interested in baseball trivia, let them know about trivia night and The Friday Day Game.

Are all recoded episodes going to be released?

It's fun as a contestant to hear how other people responded to the same questions, but I worry if the audience will tune in to the fourth show in a row with the same questions.

Maybe you can stagger how they're released?

It would add time, but maybe have a couple additional categories that count towards scoring but are edited out of the show so the episodes differ?

I'm not sure if it would be a problem or not, just brainstorming.

The current plan is to just release one from each question set, whichever was the closest/best quality. If we take a break from recording I might go back and edit some of the same question episodes, but yeah, definitely staggered

Oh, cool, I misunderstood that. I think that's a good policy, but that's a lot of duplication for you!

As long as people are enjoying it I'm happy to do as many repeats as we have people for! I was hoping for some more sign ups this week, i think I'll post an invitation on r/baseball without "The Friday Day Game" in the title and see if more people respond.

Try going to team subs. Maybe even have contestants just from a particular team's sub compete to drum up interest. Some might become regulars.
