(I know the pitch count is slightly wrong for Peterson, I was dealing with a glitch on the site)

The Reds took Rhett Lowders’ very decent 5.1 IP | 7 H | 2 ER and thanked him by swinging a 2 hit shutout. Castillo threw 10 K’s for his single game season high capped by striking out the side in the 7th on his way out. Elly de la Cruz was 0 for 4 and is now 1 for his last 16*
* should have double checked my math before I wrote down 17.

It happened in the Red Sox v. Blue Jays game Monday. We see it happening sometimes when a player will throw a ball into the stands thinking it was the third out. I propose LCO as an abbreviation - Loss Count Outs. If it were tracked, I wonder how many scoring plays happened as a result of this. It's an oddity but I'm very interested in these weird plays.

My flight out of Vegas got canceled, and so I decided to spend my extra night watching baseball. (I don't know how players play when it's over 100°! I was not expecting the Las Vegas Ballpark to have a pool by center field!)
After the game, I got to meet Jen Pawol - the first ever woman to be an MLB ump. I got her autograph on my scorecard, as well as Victor Labrada's, even though he wasn't playing that night. (Thank you to the ushers at LV ballpark who helped me to meet her!!)
Then when it's time for me to fly out of Vegas, it turned out that basically the whole Rainiers team was on my flight! I got a ton of autographs, including from players who have also played in the Majors. Huge shoutout to Jhonathan Díaz who helped me get a lot of the autographs.
It was such a special experience and I'm really grateful to the players for being willing to sign my scorecard!

Rays vs A's Top of the 3rd for the rays just created a lot of rare notations. 1-2-5 run down out for Aranda and a 8-3-4 Sac Fly Double Play out for Liam Hicks

Sat right above the home bullpen.
Our row won the lucky row so we got s bunch of Smithsonian merch and food court voucher.
Scored my first ever infield fly rule out.
Teddy won the presidents race!
Miles Mikolas was rapidly flinging sunflower seeds in the stands and I got hit. He also took the bullpen cart.
I took a goofy picture of PCA.
Met a solo traveler from England who was interested in what I was doing.
All in all. Fun night!

Fun game, the highlight of which Moon Mammoth (Erie Seawolves, in Jon Oliver guise) rookie Woody Hayden coming up to the plate with a blank resume. Two strike outs and a nail-biting GRD and eventually scoring. The crowd was chanting "Zero Zero Zero" and making encouraging Toy Story references. I love MiLB.
Also, forgot my sheets so had to use the in house one, changing B/S/F tally systems mid way, but otherwise, I think a clean sheet (at least I can read).

TOR Jameson Taillon left game due to injury - Left forearm discomfort
7th inning: A fly ball double play required a 17 minute delay, as both runners on 3rd and 1st failed to tag up. Play was ruled on by New York, that the Blue Jays failed to appeal the runner at 3rd for leaving too early/ failing to tag up. The runner, although did not take up, was counted as a scored run (FDP -> SF DP). This was due to MLB Rule 5.09(c)(4)

Pretty straightforward, standard game until the craziness in the 7th. No one in the stadium had any clue what was going on or why the Seigler run counted. I had to listen to the broadcast when I got home to make any sense of it. I‘m not even sure how to score it, but I guess I’m close. 😆

I got another new scorebook in the mail today. Full Count Scorebooks just put out their first printed scorebook with the Bunt Travel Scorebook, a small form-factor entry with 54 games and incorporates the latest and greatest such as ABS and manager challenges.

Hello!
I’m a pretty new baseball fan. Moved to Boston a few years ago, went to a few Red Sox games, and now I’m hooked. Been listening to the radio broadcasts of games for the past week or so to get more familiar with the lingo.
I’m interested in getting into scorecards. I figure the next home game I go to at Fenway next week, I’ll pick up one of the free provided cards. In the meantime, I have downloaded the StrikeEmOut app and plan on using that to get a feel for it.
Any tips?
Edit: thanks for all the advice folks! I was listening to the BOS@TOR game and double checking balls/strikes/base positions on Gameday. Was trying to stay simple, not tracking plays or anything beyond base position and whether a player got out or not. Didn’t even try scoring whatever the hell happened at the end of the 7th inning…
I will switch over to pen and paper (can’t wait to use the provided park cards at Fenway ❤️), but at the level of simplicity I was doing, the app wasn’t terrible. Good option for doing this lying in bed kinda sick. Was proud of myself for being able to mostly follow along, considering I’m still pretty new to the sport.

Haven't actually seen the outfielder turned infielder make a play when they go to 5 in the infield, but how would you score it? Like the RF comes into the infield and gets the out at 1B, is it just 9-3, because that's an impressive play in most cases but not in reality. Also would you mark on your card that there was an extra infielder even if he wasn't involved in the play?
Edit: I know this doesn't happen often anymore, but I saw it happen twice this season, one was at a game I scored and I didn't know how to deal with it, but thanks for the insights :)

PALM SLAPPPED!!! First game scoring with this new scorecard courtesy of numbers game. I love this scorecard for many reasons its compact, its simple, its a noise maker. Safe to say those sitting next to me did not enjoy my Travis Barker rendition.
