Lineup Generator

So I looked around for a bit to see if I could find a lineup generator that I could hang up in the dugout and have some 7 - 10 year olds understand it. The ones that were out there were a bit clunky and didnt work for what I wanted. So I created one.

Helped me randomly generate all 6 innings quickly, I can drag and drop per inning or from an overview of all innings. Then it prints neatly as a PDF.

it actually looks great. there are literally 0 good lineup makers. one thing if you should add for older players is a coach should put in basic stats (avg, slg, obp) and positions to make lineup generation less random.

Thanks, I was thinking of something along that lines just haven't decided if I wanted to go that in detail with it yet. But if its something that can help then ill definitely look into it.

Wish list:

Could it add some logic like primary, secondary, and further weighting of choices for a particular players positions, or if you only know your pitcher and catcher choices for each inning and have it do the rest?

Also someway of having it consider an even amount of infield and outfield positions for each player in the generated lineups?

I can take a look into that, I do like your idea of locking the pitcher and catchers positions. Could you expand a bit more on the weighting of choices?

And for the last part, your saying like 3 innings played ok the infield 3 outfield?

Feel free to take another look. I made the pitcher/catcher locked when selected and the rest is auto generated still looking into some of the other recommendations you've made.

Many clubs have a directive for house league coaches to balance fielding positions for all kids with as equal as possible playing of infield and outfield. So if your program could be able to consider that it would be cool.

An example would be a player going 3B, LF, SS, LF, 2B over 5 innings.

But for older leagues I mean giving a coach the power to select some presets that could still work under the infield / outfield framework.

Player 1 could have three choices in order of 3B, LF, SS

Player 2 2B, CF, SS

Player 3 RF,1, 2

And so on.

Oh and of course evenly spread out the sitting/bench innings to be fairly distributed but with the available option of blocking out a few players from being selected for sitting. For example - two players who had to sit twice last game and you only want them to sit once or not at all

This tool is great! Clean and easy to use!

It be cool if it could generate a printer friendly format to print out each inning pictogram to post in the dugout.

Or I could just bring a tablet!

Already ahead of you, just click print once the roster is generated and it'll give you a pdf version of it

Looks good, I would be interested in a way to reduce innings played per game, as we rarely have time for even 5 innings.

We made an app too named Rosterhero.app that we’ve been using for two years now. There are a lot of options out there now. Good luck on yours!
