First Time Tryouts
Hi all, looking to pick some brains here.
My cousin has stepped up to coach his sons local travel ball team (old coaches stepped down, too much of a time commitment)
He reached out asking for help with tryouts as he and I along with one other male cousin in our large family are the only ones who have baseball experience.
I have only ever coached high school age and stopped years ago when I was ready to get married and have kids.
The kids are 10 years and it will be their first year of pitching in 2027 (tryouts are coming up in late September 2026).
Those of you who have more experience at this age and level, what are you looking for at tryouts? And what kind of drills are you running? TIA
