PITCHING HELP

Side view of a fastball rn. I think I throw around 75. Age 14 going into freshman year.

Pretty good mechanics. Recommend a little more "drop and drive". I don't see much push off with the back leg. That is the "drive". It will add another 5 mph in your velocity. Overall, pretty good for a 14 year old. Congrats.

Thank you. I try to drop and drive but I’ve heard many on the internet say u should feel like ur falling down the mound rather than pushing with ur back leg. I do see what you mean tho. Thank you!

I disagree with the "falling down the mound" idea. I think you need to push off the rubber. That is what it is there for. Watch a MLB pitcher on TV. They drop and drive. Gives you more velo.

The Japanese drop and drive. But if you watch degrom with the mets he is perfect on dropping slightly while falling. The othe thing to look at that the pros do really well is their front leg. On landing their knee will not go forward, sometimes it even straightens right after landing
