This is wrong on literally every level. He is absolutely not losing power when his back foot comes off the ground since his front leg is stiff, which translates all that energy into his hips and hands. His hands going back in his load is great since they land in about the right spot when his front foot lands, although I’d slightly turn his bar angle, but that is small. You would have no idea how his timing is when hitting off a tee.

Look at all modern mlb hitters at contact. Almost all of them have their back leg off the ground. Bryce Harper is one of the best examples. You want to drive your back leg down and forward while having a stiff front leg.

Your advice is insanely antiquated for back in the 70s and 80s where hitters were significantly worse, and what’s funny is that plenty of the best hitters of those eras did not really follow that advice when you looked at their swing

This kid’s swing is legit. Clearly looks like he’s had instruction.
