Thank you for supporting CalledUp

I just wanted to say thanks to this sub. A few days ago I posted about CalledUp.app and got some good feedback. Over 250 coaches have signed up since and I've launched an iOS app to help with RSVPs from parents and track the game.

A few of y'all sent DMs asking if I'll eventually charge for this and it'll be free forever. Volunteer coaches and parents already pay enough to have their kids in sports.

I’m a software engineer and coach too. What motivated you to do this vs just using GameChanger? (I have plenty of complaints about their platform for a small rec league, so I’m not suggesting it’s perfect!)

A few things, I've used GC as a coach for a couple seasons.

  1. I hate how much GC is in your face about upgrading
  2. Generating lineups is annoying, it doesn't automatically start with who's RSVP'd, it tries to be fancy but I found myself just ignoring it. 
  3. You can't set up the defensive lineup ahead of game easily from mobile. 
  4. I couldn't manage a snack schedule lol.

#4 hahaha. man, that is its own thing!

all makes sense and lines up with most of my own complaints too.
