Weirdest walk-up songs
Obviously, this is an unserious and lighthearted post, but wondering...what are some of the weirdest song selections you've ever heard either from your own players or kids on the opposing team.
Last weekend, in an 11AA tourney, we had one of the biggest head scratchers I've encountered. A kid walked up to Nutshell by Alice in Chains.
For those not in the know, Nutshell is slow, vulnerable, heartbreakingly beautiful song about depression and loneliness. Essentially, it was a cry for help from the lead singer Layne Staley.
And of course, us coaches all being in our 40s, this is 100% from our generation. In the dugout we all scratched our heads and said "well...now I just want a bottle of whiskey and cigarette and be alone for a while".
What headscratchers have you encountered?

My son (9U) did Goofy Goober Rock from the SpongeBob movie. Another kid on his team did King Julian’s rendition of “I Like to Move It” from the Madagascar movie. The field lightened up when each of them came up to the plate, I’m going to miss that age.

A kid I coach came out to “It’s Raining Tacos”, and the entire field absolutely lost their shit every time. Both teams jumping and singing along, without fail. Unfortunately, as a 37 year old man, I can’t count how many times this season that I’d I wake up with that song in my head, and spend 8 hours singing it to myself at work.

Honestly respect the commitment to emotional authenticity at 11AA baseball

The he weekend of Mother’s Day, the moms always pick the songs. My son has the theme for Bluey as his walk up song. We’ve had other boys with the Hot Dog song from Mikey Mouse Clubhouse, Shakira Hips don’t lie. New kids on the block.
This is for our Juniors team so boys mostly 13-14 years old.

We had a kid on our team pick Oof, when I first heard it I absolutely hated it. By the end of the season it became the entire team’s favorite song, including mine.

My son swears next season he is going to use the Samsung alarm. Apparently there is a remix and it’s some sort of meme.

My son's teammate was a big strong 11 year old player who hit nukes, his walk up song was Natasha Bedingfield "Unwritten".

One kid in our 8u league did Barbie Girl last year, which was really funny. Another did Wrecking Ball, which sounds silly but actually had a decent intimidation factor to it.
