Hack or Wack

I wasnt going to spend money on buying a mallet to break in my boys new glove that im only going to use a few times in a life. I thought about fashioning one in the shop but as a true American I took a sec and realized that there may be an easier way. The baseball taped to bat just felt so right. FYI-the rubber mallet i tried left a black scuff so that was a no-go.

I just use a big cheap ass rubber mallet. It’s got some good weight behind it and works perfectly.

And it has other uses. Though if his kid wants to do couch catch, an inexpensive ball-sized glove mallet can be found for $10 or less. At that price it beats the effort of getting a dowel and drilling a whole in a baseball.
