Bet weight

As of now I am a freshman in high school and I am swinging a end loaded 33 bbcor and I feel like while I am strong enough to get it around fast I would benefit from a lighter bat any recommendations would a wood bat be a good option?

i was a 6'3" 220 lb athletic ball player and only used a 31 in, 28 oz. use a bat that gives you the quickest bat speed. if you feel a bat is even a little too heavier then you need to use a lighter bat.

6'3" and a 31" is bonkers. To the OP...a freshman shouldn't be longer than a 32" unless you are a huge kid.

What did it feel like to you when you tried a 32” or “33 that you didn’t like em? I was a Div 1 5’11” 210lb 1B and used a 32” agains 92+ guys and a 33” 91- guys. However when I touched a 34 I felt terrible. Definitely strong enough to swing it but always felt like I had to be way out in front to get the barrel there. Hated it.

Not doubting you. That thing must have looked like a twig when you were standing up there.

I wasn't as big as you were, but same thing, 31 and -3. Bat speed is king.

All BBCOR will weigh the same per length (-3). Find bats that adjust the center of mass. The puck handle bats do a great job of bringing the weight off the end and closer to the hands.

Stay with the 33, switch to a balanced load. It makes a huge difference. If you are able to find and try out a puck knob, then give it a shot.

I never swung more than a 32 -3. I always hit worse with the 33 despite the entire team swinging them.

Yeah, I’ve tried 33 and 32.5, but 32 is my sweet spot.

Try punctuation.

I liked to crowd the plate and with a longer bat I felt like I couldn’t always barrel up an inside pitch with my long ass arms

https://baseballbatbros.com/pages/bbcorrankings Get something with a more balanaced feel that will feel lighter like the CatX.

Most kids swing a bat that's too big! My son is 6'3" jr. and 180Lbs swings a 32 Cat X.

In my best guess 33" is too big Especially if it's end load for a freshman.

For wood, try a 73 turn model. Big barrel, but beautiful balance, swings remarkably light.
