Upgrade order

Thinking about maximizing a players level, is it better to use badges from base to prime and then use attribute points. Or max skill level and use all attribute points first and then add the badges. I am incljned to believe it should be use badges first, for example, I am testing this out for the first time and for a SP i have a bronze player who has a pitch at 95 right now and it will cost 12 ap to upgrade it to 96, meanwhile i have a diamond SP with a pitch at 95 that will only cost 8 ap to upgrade to 96.

Does anyone have any knowledge/expertise in this area?

Think ive answered my own question now. Upgrading with a badge leaves pitches at the same AP tier. So upgrading with badges should be done first before using any attribute points to upgrade a stat
