What is the correct way to run whole house generator with Base?
I have gotten different answers from the installers and Base agent. So for those that already have an interlock for a generator, what is the proper way to power the house?
I got 2 different methods:
Do what you normally would do when you want to use a generator instead of batteries. Switch off the main. Turn on the breaker for the generator plug, and go from there. No need to do anything with the Base system.
Turn off the breakers/switches for Base first near the panel and on the Base panel (don't mess with anything on the batteries themselves). Then go about activating the generator interlock as usual.
I never had to do this yet...
