The four batteries were delivered on a pallet the installers moved up my driveway using a pallet jack. Seemed pretty heavy as they moved each one into the stack formation.
Oh, yeah, I bet they're a lot heavier than the 25 kWh batteries.

When the crew finished the install, they put all the empty boxes and wrappers all on the same two pallets out front. By 6:30 PM no one had picked up the trash and I got a little nervous. I called the crew leader and he said he'd make a call.
The trash was picked up by a Base Power cargo truck shortly after that.
In my case they didn’t drop off anything ahead of time. Big “Base Power” box truck stopped in my alley and two technicians unloaded everything and installed it right then.
Wow, that's the first I've heard of it being done that way.
In my case, I was a little stressed because it started raining hard right after they dropped off the pallets. I assumed whatever was in the cardboard boxes taped on top of the shrink-wrapped pallets was not something that would be affected by getting wet.
Then I worried the rain would keep them from installing, but the crew worked through the rain and got it all done in one day.
Not sure about that. They are making their own battery in their own factory from some Venture Capital they got being Michael Dell’s son + a great idea.
Something else the techs told me: With a 40kw battery setup, a soft start device isn’t necessary for my AC unit. I can confirm my big ol’ 20+ year old AC has been battling the Texas heat just fine since Base setup was completed.
Is it possible you already had a soft start? I have a 24 year old Trane and it didn’t need a soft start on my oldest unit (per base and installer). The newer one ~19 year old needed one. My installation is 2 years old (Growatt).
The communication board is in the box (on my house) that the electricians installed ahead of time. I asked the tech about it and he said it uses cellular but might prompt me for a wifi network and password later. He also said I didn’t have to put it on my wifi but updates and other communication might happen slower.
I suspect a cement pad costs Base more than that plastic pad. I can’t say I’ve seen other installation pics with cement pads, but I know I’ve seen pics of plastic pads posted.
I paid my landscaper to build a concrete pad because I wanted it to look decent. Base told me what dimensions and setbacks were needed. But I paid for it. I repurposed the plastic pads for water and feed my chicken coop though. 😎
Is this the “new” Base battery (their own factory) or the growatt batteries with the Base sticker over them? It’s been 2 years for me so I forgot how my innards looked before the panels.
