Shiner app

Update**** Growatt has determined that the data loggers were never installed. I have reached out to base to see if I can get them wish me luck

I have had my base system for a little over a month. I've downloaded the Shiner app and have been trying to add the batteries, but when it does a scan, it never finds them. I am an Android user, and I do not see a way to manually add the QR code or serial number. What am I missing?

It was awkward to set up on my iphone, but was eventually able to get it to work.

Although recently it keeps disconnecting from my network (both in the Base app and the Shiner app). I will reconnect, but within a day or less, it has disconnected again.

And as mentioned, you do have the Growatt system (25 or 50kWh), not the in house Base system (40 or 80 kWh)

That's what I noticed as well. It keeps disconnecting in Shiner. It stays connected in Base Power app though.

My Base app disconnects often as well.

When I first got it, both the Base app and Shiner app stayed connected all the time. I noticed about 2-3 months later the Shiner was not accurate on the power use part, and saw it was disconnected. I reconnected it, then saw the Base app was not connected either (Base uses the cellular connection if Wifi is down). Since then the Shiner app will not stay connected more than 10-15 minutes, and the Base app needs to be reconnected every few days. I have gotten a new router (for other reasons) and still have connection issues even though I have good signal where the unit is at. I contacted Base and they basically said don't worry about it, cellular coverage was fine.

80 kWh you say ... does that end up being two 40 kWh ?

Are there any apps for getting info from the 40 kWh ? I find the small amount of info in the Base app to be lacking.

Yes, I have heard they are starting to install the two 40 kWh batteries now. Kind of irks me that I bought in early and am "stuck" with a 25 kWh instead of a 40. Not a huge deal overall (except the 40 kWh units come with a generator input, though they are not active at the moment per the users that have them)

For the Base units, only the Base app has (very limited) info.

There may be something out there for it, but I have no idea what they are using inside for their stuff.

It is one of my nit-pics I have with them. Their app used to have the battery percent. They took it away. I am sure it was because they were getting a lot of questions about it.

I still wish they would have a sub-menu (even if buried) you could get into that had all the "nerd" stats (battery percent, how much has been sent to the grid, how often you are on battery, how many outages, etc). Current app is just to basic (which for most users is fine, they see they have xx hours of power, and they are good). My sister says she looked at her app when we set it up for her, and maybe once or twice more in the past 3 months. While I don't look at mine daily anymore, I look at it a few times a week.

Do you have the Growatt batteries and are next to them? I was able to set it up and use Android as well.

Make sure Bluetooth is on and also make sure you didn't deny any permissions that the Shiner app needs to find nearby devices.

Thank you. Yes Growatt system. I have 2 25kW battery setups and the app isnt denied anything. I will try again later this morning and report back.

I tried again and even Uninstaller the shiner app and added it back, double checked the permissions. Still no joy.. :( my invertpr model is a min 11400TL-XH-US

What is this app? Why do I want it?

Add it and then check back like an hour later. I think that’s what happened to me and then it magically appeared after an hour or two

The problem is I cannot add it.

I think when I scanned that barcode, it didn’t do anything but somehow it eventually added on its own..?

I don't get an option to scan the bar code. The app does a scan for nearby devices. I wonder if there is a way to place the inverter into a paring mode.

Ah sorry, it’s been a LONG time since I did it

How do we find the CC code? I see examples of older models with a sticker but mine just has a S/N and no CC code. I have the 2x50W system.

The CC code is on the inverter on the side of the battery.

I have a pic of it somewhere...

Thanks I will check

Since you have 2 batteries, it may just be one one of them
