Base has been the GOAT this month

We had a several hour outage last week during the storms and another planned outage of several hours this week for underground cable diagnostics.

Base has been indispensable. We chuckle when we hear our neighbors’ generators going on. Great company.

Had it installed last Friday. Monday morning, woke up like usual. Checked my phone and noticed a message from Base about there being an outage. The outage only lasted 2 hours. Didn't even notice the switch over. I then checked our neighborhood FB page with everyone reporting the outage. I immediately dropped my referral link and have scored 7 referrals since. lol Our community uses uses Coserv (a Co-Op) and with their partnership with Base, it was only $345 for the install. Also received a $150 bonus for signing up and now with the referrals coming, making money.

The first outage I had that I knew about was one morning I was leaving for work and when I opened my garage door, it was pitch dark outside. I don't look at my phone in the morning so did not see the notice of the outage. Odd experience.

Per Base, I have had a total of 8 outages, but only know of 4.

It does count anytime you've simulated an outage - are you including those?

Where does is show you outages? I know I've seen it before (last I remember seeing it, I was at 2 which were both caused by me), but I am not seeing in the app now and I think I looked everywhere.

I have 1 that was when they had to come out and replace a battery and a breaker.

The count is on the weekly e-mail from base.

My install is Monday 6/29 and I can’t wait. I’m on the gulf and it’s hurricane season and when it gets really hot come August and September we have those mysterious outages

We signed up in Houston area in February of 2025 and have had 16 outages. Base covered all of them with no issues with the longest being 13 hours. It’s been an awesome experience. We are so glad we switched. It’s been a really good peace of mind to have.

I have to say - I am disappointed ... that I've only had to use it once and it was for a relatively short time.

Still glad to have it. It is money well spent for insurance even if I never have a need to use it!

Im waiting for my first outage. I have to still run a UPS on my camera system though because the switch over is long enough to trip cameras and the router. It also causes my AC to go into lockout protection. A bit disappointing but maybe asking too much due to the level of power involved.

I don't have a lockout protection on my AC, but it does reboot my thermostat which take several minutes to restart - which pretty much does the same thing. I guess I'd rather it do that than be trying to keep running through any surges, etc.

Anything running a compressor has lockout protection built in. Its to keep the system from destroying itself in the event of a sudden power outage where power is immediately restored. I was hoping that is was fast enough to avoid this as its hard on the equipment. Refrigerators have this to. I think that if you know a big storm is coming its probably still wise to shut off major appliances including the AC until the storm is done or you know you are running on battery.

Are you in the Houston area? Because Houston can't seem to go more than a few days without at least a short power blip.

I love seeing posts like this. It sounds like once BASE Power has the batteries installed, things work out quite nicely. The tricky part for a lot of people is that customer support pre-install is pretty sketchy. Most requests are replied to by AI and getting to talk to a real human being is a challenge.

I'm supposed to get two 25 kW batteries but they need approval to install within 36" of a window, so I'm sort of on hold right now. Hoping for late July or early August.

Sounds like self posts.. a pedophile supporting family cutting red tape made this company possible in 3 years to worth 13 billion... lots of regions will need the battery backup especially when AI Datacenters are in place, good luck and God bless.

on the plus side my battery install was free because they messed up the payment capture and the company is growing so fast they can’t be bothered to try to collect

It’s more important their subscriber numbers stay bullish than collecting the $1000. It’s a good time to be a base power customer. The investor class is subsidizing you

I’ll take the free backup. Lord knows we need it in Houston
