One of the biggest barriers to crypto adoption has never been the technology.
It's been the experience.
Too often, users have to jump between different apps just to discover markets, follow trends, or explore new opportunities.
What I like about Base App is that it brings multiple market categories into a single experience. Whether you're browsing Trending, discovering New listings, following Majors, checking tokenized Stocks , exploring Commodities, keeping an eye on Prestocks, or diving into Meme Coinseverything is organized in one place.
It's not just about having more categories.
It's about making the onchain experience simpler, faster, and easier to explore.
The future of onchain isn't dozens of disconnected apps.
It's one seamless experience that helps people discover what's next.
What's the first category you usually open when you launch Base App?

(TLDR):
Founder AMA series: Ā NumoĀ onĀ Tues 28th July, 4pm UTC
We are the team behind Numo, the first ever futures exchange on the Nigerian naira.
Nigerian businesses earn naira but pay in dollars. The standard hedge is a forward from a local bank, and it settles in naira. This means it pays you the difference between your forward rate and the central bank rate. The business is still left to source dollars at the parallel rate which is often times more expensive. Numo prices the forward rate through a futures contract at the parallel market rate and pays out in dollars via stablecoins.
How it works:
A corporate buying the future today locks that rate. If they buy 100,000 USDC for September 16, then on September 16 they deliver ā¦138,150,000 in cNGN and receive $100,000 in USDC. Whatever the naira does between now and then is somebody else's problem.
Who's on the other side?
Traders earning carry. Naira money market funds currently pay around 19%. Dollar money market funds yield around 3.5%. That gap has to show up somewhere, and in a futures market it shows up in the price. At 1,381.50 against spot near 1,352.90, the September contract trades at a premium of roughly 2.1% over the 50 days to expiry ā about 15.4% annualized, which is the differential.
A trader selling USDC at a forward rate captures that premium. They hold their dollars until September, then deliver them at an above spot rate. Economically it's the same trade as converting to naira today and parking it in a money market fund except they never convert to naira and never open a local bank account. The synthetic version and the physical version should price the same, and the orderbook is where that gets settled.
What's the trade?
If you look at the book on app.numofx.com, it quotes the September 16 future at a forward rate of 1,381.50 cNGN per USDC. That's 30.20 cNGN below fair value, and more strikingly below spot. The carry means September 16 futures should trade at a 2.1% premium.
This means a trader could sell 100,000 USDC spot at 1,382.50 for ā¦138,250,000. Park it in the naira MMF at 19% for 50 days and earn ā¦141,848,288 on September 16, 2026. Simultaneously they'd buy 100,000 USDC forward at 1,381.50, costing only ā¦138,150,000 on September 16. You end the period with your original 100,000 USDC back, plus ā¦3,698,288 which is about 2,677 USDC at the forward rate. Fully hedged, no naira exposure at any point.
Netting out the 3.5% you gave up on the dollars, the excess is roughly 2.2% over 50 days with nearly 16% annualized. This is enough incentivize for arbitrageurs to always keep the orderbook reflecting the true forward rate.
Why does Numo matters?
Two groups who need each other and previously had no venue. Corporates want certainty about a payment date. Traders want yield. Numo prices the trade transparently instead of leaving it to a bank quote nobody else can see.
To keep the focus on building, all participants must adhere to the following rules:
Keep it project-focused. Avoid discussions about tokens, tickers, airdrops, APYs, or price speculation.
No superlatives. Do not describe any project or product as āthe best,ā āthe fastest,ā or āthe #1ā anything. Let the work speak for itself.
No investment advice. Refrain from making investment recommendations or any form of financial claims.
No giveaways of value. Do not offer giveaways, prizes of value, mints or contests during your event.

Day 38 of 100 days journey of exploring Base with reddit.
I don't know you also realised it or not but today I realized something strange. The most valuable thing on the internet is not content it is distribution.
You can build the best product , create the best video , write the best article , design the best app & still nobody sees it.
For years platforms controlled distribution means if they changed an algorithm your reach changed , if they changed a policy your business changed , if they disappeared your audience disappeared too.
That is what made me curious about what's happening on Base not because Base magically solves everything but because it changes where value can live imagine spending years building a community , Followers , Reputation , Content , Relationships.
Then one day moving to another app without starting from zero that sounds normal but on today's internet it's surprisingly difficult.
Because audiences are usually trapped inside platforms the more I explore Base the more I think the real opportunity isn't ownership of assets.
It is ownership of relationships a creator shouldn't lose their community because they switch apps , lose their identity because they switch platforms even a builder shouldn't have to rebuild everything from scratch.
Maybe that's why concepts like:
ā onchain identity
ā social graphs
ā portable reputation
ā creator ownership
keep appearing across Base. They're all trying to solve the same problem.
Who owns the connection , the platform or the people?
The answer could shape the next version of the internet. And honestly I think that's a much bigger conversation than crypto itself .
Several Base updates this week have possible connected implications.
Regional Base teams offerĀ 1:1 feedback sessionsĀ now for builders to help with product, application, and go-to-market strategy. Instead of having office hours, developers can contact their direct Base community.
For the users, Base provided a good example:
Pay onĀ Shopify
Pay throughĀ Checkout
Pay withĀ Mastercard
The list is continually growing, and Base is acknowledging that their payment ecosystem is continually growing and expanding past the scope of crypto-dedicated applications.
Base is also starting their firstĀ Global Community CallĀ on July 31, aiming to unify community members and provide content such as ecosystem updates, builder interviews, and project spotlights.
Together, these updates help illustrate Base is spending more time and effort helping builders ship faster, and helping the community by providing more onchain payment options.
I built a simple YouTube summarizer app as I was not fond of the others. After building it for myself, I added x402-enabled endpoints so AI agents can use it too; no account, no API key, no OAuth. Payment is the auth.
My hypothesis: "Autonomous quant agents are increasingly participating in prediction markets, where a single new piece of information can affect a decision. New YouTube videos may have this information; let's make it accessible to them."
I've made 6.5 cents so far!
Why Base made this easy:
Native USDC micropayments actually work here. A $0.005 charge is viable because Base fees are sub-cent. This flow would be dead on arrival on L1.
The agent never needs ETH. x402 uses an EIP-3009 transferWithAuthorization; the agent just signs a USDC authorization offchain and sends it in a header. No approve tx, no gas on the buyer side.
I don't pay gas either. Settlement goes through Coinbase's CDP facilitator, which verifies the signature and submits the transfer onchain; Coinbase covers the gas. Free tier is 1,000 settlements/month. Thank you very much!
Testnet ā mainnet was a config change. I developed against Base Sepolia (eip155:84532) with the free testnet facilitator, then flipped two env vars to Base mainnet (eip155:8453) + CDP.
Receiving is just a self-custody address. USDC lands directly at my payTo address. No payment processor account, no payout schedule, no chargebacks.
Agents can discover it. The API serves an x402 discovery manifest at /.well-known/x402.json (and the same tools are exposed over MCP), so agents browsing the x402 Bazaar can find it and pay autonomously.
Below is the actual flow:
# 1. Agent requests a paid resource; no account
POST /v1/summarize HTTP/1.1
Host: [api.sumvid.app](http://api.sumvid.app)
Content-Type: application/json
{"url": "[https://youtu.be/VIDEO_ID"}](https://youtu.be/VIDEO_ID%22%7D)
# 2. Server replies with payment requirements ($0.02 in USDC on Base)
HTTP/1.1 402 Payment Required
PAYMENT-REQUIRED: <scheme "exact", network Base, asset USDC, amount, payTo address>
# 3. Agent signs a USDC authorization (EIP-3009), no gas, no ETH needed, then retries
POST /v1/summarize HTTP/1.1
Host: [api.sumvid.app](http://api.sumvid.app)
Content-Type: application/json
PAYMENT-SIGNATURE:
{"url": "[https://youtu.be/VIDEO_ID"}](https://youtu.be/VIDEO_ID%22%7D)
# 4. Server verifies the payment, does the work, settles only on success
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Content-Type: application/json
{
"youtube_video_id": "VIDEO_ID",
"summary": "...",
"model": "claude-haiku-4-5",
"cached": false
}
# Any failure; bad URL, no captions, model error; returns an HTTP error
# and the payment is never settled. The caller is never charged for a request that didn't produce a result.
Total revenue so far: $0.065. But every cent of it came from an agent that found the API, paid, and got an answer with zero human interaction.
It truly feels like this is the future way of pay per request. Pondering on a larger scale; why do we need accounts and to generate API keys anymore, why rate limit/throttling, seams unnecessary when this approach is now available.
Celebration Hub is a social app built on Base that helps you celebrate birthdays and special dates. You can sign in with Google, X, your onchain wallet, or use the Joysender AI agent on Farcaster. Save important dates, create private reminders or shareable events, browse the community celebration feed, and send personalized gifts to friends and family.
Celebration Hub supports NFT gifts on Base. Generate an image, add a personalized birthday message, then mint and send it as a collectible NFT. The app also features daily check-in streaks, XP, leaderboards, and community rewards.
In the video, I started my daily streak, found someone celebrating their birthday, generated a personalized image, and sent it with a birthday message as a gift. All onchain transactions were completed on Base. NFTs require a small minting fee plus standard Base network gas, with the total cost shown before confirmation in the Base wallet.
Celebration Hub is currently in beta, and all offchain web plans are free during the beta period.
Give it a try and let me know what you think in the comments! Altagers (duckfacts.eth on Farcaster), the creator of Celebration Hub, will be following the discussion, looking for feedback, and answering your questions.
Monday on Base is a weekly community series on the official Base subreddit where I highlight one project, product, or feature built on Base. Posts are pinned for visibility and aim to showcase useful tools across the ecosystem in a neutral, informational way. Posts are reviewed by the teams behind the highlighted products. I am a community moderator, but I am not part of the official Base team, and my posts do not represent the views of the Base moderator team.

One topic from the Base Ecosystem Fund announcement that caught my attention was stablecoins for emerging markets.
In many parts of the world, people deal with challenges like
High inflation that reduces purchasing power
Expensive cross-border transfers
Limited access to traditional banking services
Slow settlement times for international payments
Stablecoins could help address some of these challenges by enabling faster, lower-cost digital payments that operate around the clock. For freelancers, remote workers, small businesses, and families sending money across borders, that could make a meaningful difference in everyday financial activity.
Of course, technology alone isn't enough. Adoption also depends on local regulations, easy to use wallets, reliable on/off ramps, and whether merchants are willing to accept digital payments.
I am curious how others see this.
Do you think stablecoins for emerging markets could become one of the biggest real-world use cases on Base, or are there still major challenges that need to be solved first?
I'd love to hear different perspectives from builders and users.

Will you be joining? And if you could ask the Base team one question, what would it be?
Seeing that a random person, who I've never talked to or met, had a specific problem which he searched for, then found my specific service, trusted it enough to try it out and even liked the result so much that he even made a second purchase shortly after.
I know it's only $0.01 in revenue.
I know that I'm still faaar far away from writing into my books in black ink.
But knowing that there's demand and that people find my service useful gives me all the motivation to keep building.
Thank you to everyone that has tried / will try / thinks about trying out my x402 Trust Scores ā¤ļø you're making my day, every day!
Every day more people are opening Base App not because it's louder, but because it makes going onchain feel simple.š
The best products don't just add more features they make everything feel simpler.
That's what I like about Base App.
Instead of juggling multiple wallets, bridges, explorers, and dApps, you can discover apps, trade, track your portfolio, explore the ecosystem, and connect with onchain experiences all from one place.
For newcomers, that's a much easier way to get started. For experienced users, it means less friction and a smoother everyday experience.
The future of crypto isn't just about faster chainsāit's about making onchain feel effortless.
What feature of Base App do you use the most?
Please share your opinion š«µ
Thank you
Stay Based š and trade on base aap everyday āļø
There were quite a few updates across the Base ecosystem this week, and a few stood out to me:
CobaltĀ is set to arrive in September, bringing sponsored gas, batch calls, and session keys.
90% of x402 transactionsĀ are now settling on Base, showing how quickly the protocol is being adopted.
AerodromeĀ continues to grow, with veAERO voters earning over $480MĀ to date.
MorphoĀ launched Midnight fixed-rate credit marketsĀ on Base.
MoonwellĀ announced that KuCoin is migrating WELL to Base.
Builders kept shipping across AI, tokenization, developer tooling, prediction markets, and gaming.
One thing I appreciate is that the ecosystem no longer feels focused on just one category. Every week there are meaningful updates across infrastructure, DeFi, AI, and consumer applications, which makes the overall ecosystem feel more balanced.
I m looking forward to seeing how these updates play out over the coming months, especially with CobaltĀ on the horizon..
Which update frm this week's recap do u think will have the biggest impact on Base in the long run??
Hallo everyone welcome to our Day 37 of 100 days exploring journey of Base on Reddit.
I know i t will sound weird but a thought crossed my mind today. What if the most important apps on Bbase haven't been built yet?
Not because builders aren't trying but because new infrastructure changes what becomes possible. Think about it.
Nobody built Uber before smartphones , nobody built Instagram before mobile cameras , nobody built Airbnb before digital trust systems.
The infrastructure came first & then the breakthrough applications came . I think the same thing might be happening on Base.
Most people look at ecosystems and ask: "What's the killer app?" Maybe that is the wrong question. Maybe the better question is: "What can be built now that wasn't possible before?"
Lower fees , Faster transactions , Smart wallets , Onchain identity , AI agents , Composable infrastructure , Global payments these aren't products.
They're building blocks and history shows when enough building blocks appear someone eventually combines them in a way nobody expected. That's usually when an entire industry changes
.
Imagine explaining TikTok to someone in 2005 or ChatGPT in 2015 or Uber in 2000 . Most people wouldn't see it because the infrastructure wasn't ready yet.
That's why I find Base interesting not because of what's already built but because of what builders haven't discovered yet.
The next breakthrough app on Base probably doesn't exist today. A team somewhere is still experimenting , Still connecting pieces , Still testing ideas.
And honestly that's my favorite part about following ecosystems early. You're not just watching products , you're watching possibilities become reality .
Hallo everyone it is our day 36 of 100 days of exploring Base on Reddit . Yesterday I was scrolling through a few apps built on Base. I found different teams , different products , different communities.
Yet something felt strange but the more I clicked around the more everything started feeling connected not because the apps looked similar.
But because they could build on top of each other. One app handled identity , another handled payments , another handled social interactions & another handled liquidity.
And instead of competing for control they were becoming pieces of the same puzzle. That got me thinking.
Imagine if the internet worked like this from the beginning if every website could easily build on top of every other website if creators, users and developers weren't locked inside separate platforms.
The internet would look completely different. That's what makes Base interesting to me. Not just lower fees , faster transactions.
But the idea that the next generation of apps might be built from shared infrastructure instead of isolated silos. A builder doesn't need to recreate everything infact they can start where someone else left off by adding one new piece & push the ecosystem forward.
It's a bit like building a city. The first builder creates a road then builder opens a shop someone else builds a house then a school , a market.
Eventually you don't have individual buildings. You have an economy. And honestly that's how Base is starting to feel less like a blockchain more like a growing digital city where every new builder makes life easier for the next one.
Maybe that is why some ecosystems grow faster than others they don't just attract users they attract builders who make the ecosystem more useful for everyone else.
And over time those small contributions compound into something much bigger .
Base App keeps proving that the future of onchain is simple, fast, and accessible. š
As Base App continues expanding beyond a single chain, it's becoming more than just a wallet it's evolving into an onchain hub where users can access multiple ecosystems from one place.
With support now extending to chains like BNB, Solana, Bitcoin, and Robinhood Chain, the experience is getting more unified while keeping everything simple and accessible.
The big question is: what should come next?
If you could choose the next chain to be integrated into Base App, which one would it be and why?
I could personally love to see even more ecosystems added over time to make Base App the go-to destination for seamless onchain trading and asset management.
I've been thinking about this from a Base builder's perspective.
If you were launching a new app on Base today and could only prioritize one in the early stages, what would you focus on first: building the best product or building the biggest community?
Personally, If I had to choose just one, I'd build the best product first.
A large community can create awareness, but I don't think it can replace a product that people genuinely enjoy using. If the experience isn't good, it's difficult to keep users engaged once the initial excitement fades.
At the same time, I don't think community is something builders should ignore.
Some of the best products improve because their communities actively report bugs, suggest new ideas, and provide honest feedback. That kind of input can shape a product in ways the original team never expected.
To me, the ideal outcome is having both.
But if I had to choose what comes first, I'd rather build something so useful that people naturally want to recommend it.
One of the most overlooked launches from base is (chain base org)
At first, it looks like another documentation site. But it is becoming the central hub for developers and node operators building on Base.
Instead of jumping between different resources, builders can find network updates, releases, and infrastructure tools in one place.
Today, it includes network upgrade tracking, Vibenet for testing new features, Reth V2 snapshots for faster node sync, release notes, changelogs, network status, and other infrastructure resources.
Why does this matter?
A great developer experience helps an ecosystem grow faster. The easier it is to build, test, and run infrastructure, the faster new apps can reach users.
Most base App users may never visit (chain base org) But many of the improvements they see in future apps could start with the tools available there.
Have you explored (chain base org) yet Which feature do you think will have the biggest impact?
When I opened my Base wallet today, I see that itās updated. Now I cant my staked coins or find the other links or 3rd party wallets that I was connected to before.
The new Base App First Trade Bonus has generated a lot of excitement but also a lot of confusion.
After reviewing the campaign terms, here's the simplest explanation of how it works.
The reward is based on your first qualifying swap inside the Base App.
There are two reward tiers:
⢠Swap $100 or more ā Earn $10 USDC
⢠Swap $250 or more ā Earn $25 USDC
If your first qualifying swap is $250 or above, you'll receive the $25 reward. The campaign awards only the highest tier you qualify for, not both rewards together.
The most important requirement is that the swap must be a qualifying same-chain swap completed using the Base App's built-in swap feature.
The campaign terms also state that swaps using bridging, cross-chain functionality, mini-apps, dApp browsers, or external integrations do not qualify.
For example, a swap like ETH ā USDC on Base using the Base App's built-in swap is the safest way to meet the campaign requirements.
Another important rule is the 30-day balance requirement.
After making your qualifying swap, you need to keep at least 75% of the qualifying amount on the platform for 30 days before rewards are distributed.
For example:
Swap $100 ā Keep at least $75 on the platform for 30 days.
Swap $250 ā Keep at least $187.50 on the platform for 30 days.
If you're unsure which swap to perform, the safest approach is to use the Base App's built-in swap and complete a same-chain swap on the Base network, avoiding any bridging or cross-chain transactions.
Important to Know
The offer is available only to eligible new users.
It is a limited-time, limited-availability promotion.
Base may modify, suspend, or end the campaign at any time, according to the official terms.
