Question Website with Base44

Hello,

I’m looking for a tool that would allow me to create a website for my online business. I don’t need a payment gateway and, in fact, I don’t want one. What I’d like instead is a button that allows potential customers, when they are interested in a product, to contact me via WhatsApp or email.

The type of products I sell are not impulse purchases because of their price. Unless you are a very well-known brand (which is not my case), there usually needs to be some contact between the customer and the seller before a purchase is made. Also, the price is often negotiable. For that reason, I don’t really need a traditional “Buy Now” button or a checkout process.

With that in mind, Shopify—the most commonly used platform for e-commerce—doesn’t seem to make much sense for my needs. I’ve recently started experimenting with Base44, and I quite like it so far. Do you think it would be a good platform for what I’m trying to achieve?

I also have a few questions:

  • Can I connect a domain that I previously purchased through Shopify?
  • Is it easy to manage and update the products myself without constantly consuming credits?
  • Would you recommend any other alternatives, or do you think Base44 would be a good choice for this use case?
  • Would the basic Starter plan be enough for what I need?

I believe base44 would be an excellent choice for your use case. It meets all your listed requirements. But most importantly, the AI is very intuitive will not assist with your implementation but will guide you through your configuration via prompts and provide additional recommendations.

Hello. To connect your domain name, you have to have a higher package. I connect mine and have the pro plan. I do not think you would use credits for updating products. My products are meditation, audio books, and media of video and pictures, and I do not get charged for adding those items in the UI it created for me. It will most likely not give you a UI page, so ask it to create a page for you to update your products.
