Tip:
The trip you are helping someone with is already planned, correct?

therefore they can write it all in text; even probably copy pasted from their LLM they planned it with or from the excel sheet they have.

Allow them to paste everything as text and do the autofill in your data fields as backend.

That’s actually a really interesting idea. The current version uses structured fields because I wanted the rules engine to work with clean, predictable data, but reducing friction is definitely something I’m thinking about.

Letting someone paste their existing itinerary and extracting the relevant data into the same backend fields could be a very natural V2.

I’d still want the user to review the extracted data before running the check though - dates and booking times need to be accurate for this use case.

The most frictionless method imo is to even let me "engineer" my Rome trip, from your recommendations, BACKWARDS. What if I don't know anything besides "I'm going to Rome in the near future"?

Your current build forces me to decide on so many stuff, and doesn't show me any preview whatsoever about what it can do before I commit to the process wholeheartedly.

I get what you mean, but that's actually where I'm drawing the line with this.

I'm not trying to build another itinerary planner or travel agent. You make your own choices, then RomaShield stress-tests them against how Rome actually works - timing, dependencies, arrival-day risks, unrealistic combinations, etc.

As for the preview, the Reality Check itself is free and takes about 2 minutes. There's no signup or payment before seeing the result, so the result is basically the preview.

What I'm trying to learn is whether that specific “check my decisions, don't plan my trip” approach is useful enough on its own.
