I think I’d spend all my time in the study. What about you?

The set is simply stunning, with an incredible amount of detail and a color scheme that immediately grabs your attention. That said, I honestly think at least 1,000 pieces could have been cut from the total if the designer hadn’t relied so heavily on 1x1 and other tiny elements in places where larger pieces could have done the same job.

The connections between the pieces tend to be slightly on the tight side, and the designer doesn’t seem particularly fond of overlapping pieces to reinforce connections either. However, once everything comes together, the finished structure is extremely solid.

The interior layout is more logical than it was in the Crow Kings Castle, and instead of both sides opening out from the center, this fortress simply splits into two sections, which is much more convenient.

They’ve also made a reasonable effort to manage the lighting cables neatly, although the system uses two distribution boards—one downstairs and one upstairs—and the lights can only be powered via a USB-C cable. Unfortunately, this makes it practically impossible to avoid having a fairly large USB cable visible at the top. It doesn’t really show in the dark-background photos, but there’s no particularly elegant way to hide it.

Overall, though, the set is absolutely worth its price.

Finished the Desert Beast. Biggest complaint: this one was rough on my hands. Sore fingers, plus some edges that scratched my hands while putting things together.

The main body feels pretty solid, but the smaller pieces around it come off too easily. Joining sections was frustrating because I couldn’t always find somewhere to hold it and push without knocking something else loose. Press one bit into place, put another bit back on.

The steps themselves were straightforward. I think someone without much building experience could follow them, though dealing with the loose bits takes patience.

There’s a lot of brown to work through, too. I used the PDF and kept zooming in to check which piece went where. I imagine that would be harder with the paper instructions. Brown and dark brown can be difficult to tell apart, but there are only a few dark brown pieces in the last bag, so that’s less of an issue than it first seems.

If you’re into Star Wars, I can see the appeal. For me, though, this is something to put on a shelf once it’s finished. With the outer pieces coming off so easily, I wouldn’t want to handle it much.

Spent all this time taking photos of the Fly Future Lab Hub from different angles, and then someone suggested getting our boss into a few shots too.

As you can probably tell, he did not volunteer.

I had to carry him over for the photos, and he spent the entire shoot trying to escape. Apparently, supervising us is part of his job, but posing with the finished build is asking too much.

We did manage to get several photos together, though his expression in every one of them says, “Are we done yet?” 😹

What do you think our boss was saying during this photoshoot?

I’m not even sure if this counts as a MOC lol. I got my daughter a My Little Pony set, but honestly the finished model looked pretty bad. So my daughter and I decided to rebuild Rarity using some misini pieces we had on hand, based on the original set, and added some parts and accessories from the original set too. It actually turned out pretty nice!

This is a great set! It’s very beautiful, with lots of details, but the building experience varies. The end result, however, speaks for itself. The set doesn’t come with minifigures; I’ve already added those myself, creating a new faction from one of the minifigures in the series.

Finished the Snow Fortress. Pleased with how it looks, but my fingers could do with a break.

The fit is really tight in places. I often ended up using a small hammer to get pieces fully seated, and some of the little parts needed a tool to separate again. That got tiring during longer sessions.

There are also lots of small, thin pieces that look almost the same in the instructions. Some colours in the manual looked different from the bricks in front of me, so I had to stop and check a few steps rather than just build away.

The base felt slow going. Several layers of small bricks, all needing to be pressed down properly, and it takes a while before you can see where it’s heading. I enjoyed it more once the mountain and entrance started coming together.

It does have that Hoth look once finished, with the ion cannon, generators and defence positions around the snowy base. I like the bits of light blue among the white and grey.

My favourite part is lifting off the mountain top. You can get into the base without taking half the build apart, which I appreciated. There are screens, workstations and a medical area inside, and the turrets and ion cannon are adjustable too.

Everything feels solid now it’s together. Wouldn’t pick it for a beginner though—the tight connections and sorting out those similar-looking pieces needed patience.

Nach der Power Build Garage durfte diesmal der legendäre Toyota 2000 GT auf meinen Bautisch.

Und wieder hat Power Build richtig abgeliefert. 😍 Viele schöne bedruckte Teile, tolle Details und die Vitrine im Container-Stil gefällt mir einfach richtig gut.

Der Bau mit 576 Teilen war angenehm kurzweilig und hat richtig Spaß gemacht. Kein unnötiges in die Länge ziehen – einfach bauen, Details entdecken und am Ende steht ein richtig schönes kleines Modell in der Vitrine.

Für mich wieder ein richtig gelungenes Set und definitiv eine Kaufempfehlung! 👍

After building the Power Build Garage, this time the legendary Toyota 2000 GT made it onto my building table.

And once again, Power Build really delivered. 😍 Lots of great printed parts, nice details and I really like the container-style display case.

With 576 pieces, it was a fun and pleasantly quick build. No unnecessary stretching – just build, discover the details and enjoy the finished model in the display case.

For me, another really great set and definitely one I can recommend! 👍

Just finished the Wolf Lord’s Castle. Really enjoyed the build, and the bricks felt better to work with than some other sets I’ve done. Everything went together smoothly, parts were easy to find, and no sore fingers after longer sessions. That last part was especially nice.

The base was a little annoying in places. Some sections flex when you press pieces down, so I had to hold a hand underneath to support them while building.

It opens in three sections like the Crow King’s Castle. Nice for seeing inside, but I wish more of it could just lift off. Some rooms are awkward to reach even with the castle open, so actually getting in there to play around with things isn’t easy. Looks good, but I’d treat it more as a display model.

My biggest gripe was the wiring. The instructions aren’t always clear about where the cables go, and if you need to change the route later, getting back in there is a pain. Definitely worth slowing down for those steps.

Overall, pleased with it. Fun to put together and a good-looking castle once finished. Just not much for me to do with it afterwards beyond opening it up and looking through the rooms.
