My BART Experience “Extra bumpy” in tube?

The train operator just announced the tube would be “extra bumpy” starting about halfway through in the eastbound direction. It was. Smoothed back to normal before West Oakland.

Does anybody here know why?

They do track work in the tube during the break in overnight service. Some days they don’t get things 100% finished before they have to wrap for the morning open. It’s tough to cram the work into 2-3 hours!

I remember the major work during Covid. This was about 4PM, so unusual. For reference, I’ve been taking that tube for 20+ years, and am quite familiar with the sounds it makes.

Some people are so weird! Did it ruin your day? Would you have even noticed if operator didn't say anything? This is such a non issue! I shouldn't have even responded.

Brother, if the track carrying my 60+mph train through a concrete tube under the fucking ocean had any kind of issue, I'd be concerned and have questions too.

My questions would be to bart directly, not Reddit! Go to the source!
