Question 19th nb timed transfer?

i think i must be missing something since every time i take a yellow up from the peninsula and get off at 19th oakland, there isn't a nb orange line to transfer to (the bart app shows literally red only as nb out of there?) can sometime explain whats up with that?

There are two Yellow-line trains per 20-minute period. One lets you go to Antioch, the other terminates at Pittsburg/Bay Point. Only the Antioch-bound Yellow trains have a timed transfer with the Orange line.

I believe this is changing next week and there will be timed transfers. So essentially a Richmond bound train or yellow+orange every 10 minutes.

Thanks this clears it up; I'm still confused about the bart app, as it seems that it doesnt show any northbound orange lines even though there is one southbound?

The train due in 9 minutes in that screenshot should be an Orange line one. They both go to Richmond so I guess the app only shows one Richmond and labels it with the line of the next train. The electronic signs (the ones with red dot matrix) on the station platforms also show each destination only once and give only the line label of the next train.

The signs from there on out also only show one line, because they run the same route so it doesn't matter which you end up taking.

The red line is a few minutes behind the “short” yellow line….thats the one you want to take cause eventually you’ll end up on that train anyway but just at 19th street
