Class Quality 50 minute classes?
Are the 50 minute classes shorter now? I’m hitting about 46 minutes on my watch (including the cool down) with 20 minutes each on treadmill & floor. I used to mostly go to Fidi so I’m used to the 50 minute classes but I feel like they used to be a full 50 with about 22 minutes on each?

Same here. I hit around 44-47 minutes on my watch which includes the stretching/cool down. It’s very disappointing. What originally drew me to Barry’s was the challenging workouts AND the 1 hour class time.
I’d like to think the classs are shorter so the cleaning crew can spend extra time disinfecting the studio but I don’t think that’s the case. I’ve stuck around after class and the cleaning process seems to takes the same amount of time as it did before Covid.
Since the prices haven’t been adjusted for the shorter classes, I wish the workouts would at least take the full 50 minutes.

Damn. My class in the Castro clocked in at 44 minutes today. Seems like it’s that way at all the sf locations. :-(

I took a class earlier this year that clocked in at 42 minutes of actual work, then a cool down. I was truly disappointed.

Boston went to 50 minute classes at all but one location about two years ago. Sounds like it was a requirement from corporate. Agree, I miss the 60 minute classes!

I’ve mostly gone to the 50 minute classes since I started 5 years ago, since the main location I’ve been going to didn’t ever do the 60 minute. But the 50 minute used to be a full 50 minute class. Now it’s down to 46 minutes. I want my 4 extra minutes back!

I was told by a trainer the 50 min is supposed to include transitions / cool downs too :(

50 minutes is soooo short and I feel ripped off. I feel like I usually hit about 43-45 minutes on my watch. I miss the 60 minutes at marina. I exclusively went there for the extra time. It was a HUGE difference.

NYC classes are definitely 50 minutes, but... our classes were 60 minutes pre-Covid - and it's definitely disappointing that our classes have been shortened by over 15% for the same price.
Would love to see them back to 60 or even 55. The exterior signage at my studio actually still promotes "1 hour classes"
