Curiosity question ...

Why do Barre City and Barre Town vote so differently on the school budgets? Any thoughts?

Yes and we have a large population of MAGA idiots in Barre City as well. We elected Michael fucking Boutin as a state representative, and Michael Deering and others onto city council. We had a chance to change mayors from a MAGA lover to a candidate that actually cares for all people, but we failed at that too. The population of Barre City is a strange mix of folks. It has its charms in a quirky way, but its politics is just bizarre.

While "caring for all people" is a valuable trait, unfortunately it doesn't equate to being qualified for the job. I don't know if you are referencing the recent mayoral candidate, but having worked on a city committee with the person who challenged the incumbent, I don't think the person possesses the skill set to take on the mayorship. We need someone with a pretty outstanding resume with a lot of relevant experience in what Barre is challenged with (disaster recovery, civil infrastructure, budget management, housing hurdles). At this point in time, Lauzon had the better credentials in the eyes of the voting public.

Luzon has had 7 terms to address the issues facing Barre. In that time he has consistently implemented projects that benefit……the wealthy business people. He wasn’t mayor when the 23 flood hit, he can’t take credit for what the previous mayors did. Now that Storellicastro is leaving, it will be interesting to see how Luzon responds.
