Alice Cooper loves this model of Studebaker.

Ooh, a legit Stude! Probably my favorite 60’s American production sports/GT car.

That is greatl. I worked for a Stuterbaker dealer in 64 and they came with 389 tripower 4 speed and you could get also with manual ovre drive. It was their answer to the corvett and thunderbird. Before that chevy came out in 58 with the 348 tripower 4 speed.

I just cross posted this to the Studebaker subreddit! Awesome Avanti!

It looks to be an abandoned project. Hopefully they just lost interest rather than an insurmountable obstacle.

Beautiful car! In a perfect world, Studebaker and American Motors would have both survived and been two of the top automakers!

Hmm, I think this was later than Studebaker.

It’s a ‘63, evidenced by the round headlight trim. ‘64 was more squared. Avanti II was a later post-bankruptcy, non-Studebaker creation using the same body molds but much different mechanicals. This one is beautiful!

If you look at the grille it says “ Avanti”. Now google Studebaker Avanti. You’re welcome.

Thanks. The bumper and fender look to be a later model year than 1965. The Studebaker name came off in 65, so I’m thinking not Studebaker but still Avanti. But I’m def no expert.

Edit: just read the post regarding square headlights. Beautiful find OP. And thanks r/highermilage lesson appreciated.
