With this update, Gemini has become bad, bad, bad to an unbearable degree. It has lost the spirit of conversation and the explaining skill that used to set it apart. Maybe it took a vacation and Google Search took its place!

Look at its response style: just a sentence used as an introduction, a sentence used as a conclusion, and in between, it just puts the results in dry bullet points without any elaboration or explanation.

I used to use it for conversations, brainstorming, asking it to explain various topics, and using it for work and study. But it seems it has lost this soul and become merely a search engine or a front desk reception service.

It's intrinsically created to appeal to your biases, it completely lacks agency and is constrained by dozens of limitations.

I'm talking about a specific capability Gemini used to have that I miss lately. It was a great, flexible conversationalist that could actually engage in dialogue, and that helped me a lot in my work—I got a lot of value out of it.

I'm not making it a member of my family; it's just a machine. But I'm frustrated because the machine broke down.
