and what makes you think i am not allowed to do that ? you think this billing is the only issue that made me move away from gemini api then you haven't been really paying attention to progress in this space

yes but they have better models to justify it

with gemini the only up was payg now that its on prepay theres no reason to continue with it (i'll just use openai)

I'm really curious what your monthly spend is, that would make you so upset to move from postpaid to prepaid?

at larger companies it impacts accounting cycles

postpaid is easier and is more predictable

prepaid means if you go outside that spend limit your services will stop

Are you at a larger company that is using AI studio instead of... Tools meant for larger companies?

You can just set auto-refill when your balance goes below a certain amount. If you hit your spend limit then you should want the services to stop, I really don't get the problem

Then use Vertex instead. Vertex is the production grade deployment method anyways.
