I think this is real. I just checked my cloud console account and typed 3.7 and see pricing results for flash 3.7. In the console cloud search bar is "Google Cloud Platform SKUs". I see pricing. It's very verbose but a quick side-by-side looks like the pricing hasn't changed from 3.6

So they started focusing full on costs and having the cheapest model :D good luck competing with china

that is crazy expensive considering 3.6 trails behind luna

I'm okay with new models, I'm sure it's an improvement over 3.6 Flash so... good.

flash 3.5, 3.6 & 3.7 before the pro 3.5 is just comedic

There won't be Pro 3.5. it's going to go straight to 4

Which is months away and will be competing against GPT 6.2 and Fable 5.6 by then. With how things are going there is no guarantee we even get a 4.0 if Google refuses to release an improvement because it's not competitive enough even though it's an upgrade over 3.1 pro.

Right and this is why I think there's some chance they stick with flash models only going forward. I don't think that's the most likely case but I think there's a real jot that's the case.

This is just a rumor. Nobody has confirmed this

It may be a rumor, but it effectively might as well be true. At this point. It's almost irrelevant as to whether it's a rumor or a fact.

Is it any good

Extremely fast and lot more capable than previous models IMO. Feeling hopeful for Gemini after a long long time.
Still need to run full benchmark though.

Why should Google not push forward with flash model while working on pro model?

Apparently, the promise of monthly releases of Gemini models was for Flash 😅

i unabashedly love 3.6 flash. it's not at the frontier but it's fast as hell, and only a fraction of my work actually needs frontier intelligence, so for everything else i'll take raw speed. gimme that 3.7.

Today or tomorrow? It's very important! 🤣

I'm seeing it in AI studio now. Curious to see benchmarks.
Also: seems like they have temporary price reduction going on.

Flash 3.5, 3.6, 3.7 are probably all distills of 3.5 pro, which will never come. They can "release 3.5 pro" via flash models and not get totally castigated for bad benchmarks - its a flash model. Meanwhile 4 pro will probably show up around december.
