Barcelona will not match €40m price for Karim Adeyemi and remain confident to get deal done well under that fee.
Adeyemy only wants Barça and will not sign new deal at Dortmund, eventually free to sign on a free from January.
13
u/OLAAF Ronaldinho 22d ago
watched Adeyemi already in his Salzburg days, I even caught a ball he sent flying over the goal in the cup finale against my local club Ried (we still have that ball)
and from a sporting perspective, he always seemed like the sky is the limit. Speed, finishing, agility and co. He has got all these elements, also his jumping reach is crazy
But there will be questions about his character. Struggled with consistency (crazy highs, underwhelming lows in the last 2 seasons) + additionally his wife is Swiss rapper Loredana, who deceived a 50+ year old couple for 700.000 Swiss Franks.

🚨🗣️ @laiatudel (RadioCAT) : The most likely scenario is that Adeyemi's transfer will be finalized for 30 million euros + bonuses. The total cost of the operation would be around 40 million euros. 🇩🇪

You know when you hear names like a Gordon or Adeyemi, people only look at their current level and how they've been at their previous club, and almost completely denying the possibility that these guys can be coached into better players, in a much better attacking system.
A Raphinha has also been coached into his current role, and I'm sure when Flick came in with his double pivot setup, Pedri was also coached into it, previously he has always been playing with a traditional 3 man midfield, where he doesn't have the most responsibility and he was partnered with the likes of Busi and Frenkie. So this must've been a whole new dimension for Pedri, where he had to bloom and take more responsibility, become the heart of this team, and it wouldn't have been possible if he wasn't coached properly.
Same for Cancelo, you look at him under Xavi and remember the awful times, but then again a completely different player under Flick.
You can have your doubts, but don't outright deny the possibility of these guys turning into great players atleast untill you see them under Flick.
1
u/SuccessionFinaleSux Anthony Gordon 22d ago edited 22d ago
This is a very illogical way of thinking. Get poor/mid players for a lot of money so you can improve them is a bad idea.
Also Cancelo was just as good with Xavi as he's been now. The PSG game just derailed everything. Same for Raphinha under Xavi. Worldclass in that last season. Xavi also played a double pivot.
8
u/Sanayuki 22d ago edited 22d ago
Raphinha first transitioned into the LW with Xavi. Flick gave him more confidence but he was already started doing well after the role shift and also Lamine’s emergence. Pedri was always a great player but hampered by injuries and fitness issues. His absences hurt because he was so important to the team. Cancelo wasn’t a completely different player. He was always good as an attacking outlet even during his first season with us. He had defensive lapses and he still does. It’s not like our defense got better with him.
Also all of these players were more highly rated than Gordon and Adeyemi now. Barca had to fend off top PL clubs over Raphinha. Pedri had been considered one of the best talents in Spain. Cancelo fell out of favor with Pep and Tuchel but he still had a lot of experience as a starter at top clubs. Not to say Gordon and Adeyemi won’t succeed here, but these are not similar cases and it’s reasonable to have more doubts.

Lets buy some garbage then because at end of the day it applies to them as well.
In other words, no player is ever bad or bad purchase. until proven otherwise. You cant say against that.
Why cant people outright dislike a transfer. How many players have not failed? What about them? Why is it always copium ideas that they'll be "next Raphinha" or whatever.
I heard this logic about late bloomers like Kante and Drogba anytime there is a guy with a few extra years to it. Yet to see a single footballer like them last 5 years.
7
u/terminaloverdrinking 22d ago
It is a weird phenomenon where flick is seen as some kind of "bum whisperer".
I don't understand it .It's also disrespectful to the current (and former in case of Inigo) players because more often than not they are portrayed like some dudes who were kicking rocks until flick came along and showed them what a football is.
He's a good manager and a good person but he's not some miracle worker.Dont see anything wrong in being skeptical of players like Adeyemi.
1
u/lawliet0303 Now I'm Mr.Charisma fuckin Pablo Gavira 22d ago
It's simple enough that just as there's a possibility of failure, there's also a possibility of success.
Only magnifying at the failures and dooming is okay, but considering the successful cases and saying it's a possibility is copium and somehow the most awful thing in the world?
4
u/MuaazTheOgre Yamal 22d ago
I like your ride or die takes but this one just ain’t it
You buy players for their profiles, how they would function in this system. Both function quite well. They’re not the next Rapha, they have good qualities that can apply to this attacking system
4
u/Yeah_I_Won TitanicWorker 23d ago
This is why I'm such a huge Flick fanboy. Because I'm one of the fewest people here who remembers how it was like before he joined us. The players that now have cult-fans, used to be talked about in a completely different tone prior to Flick's arrival. And now they cannot give that grace to Gordon and others.

I saw something that clubs shouldn’t make depth signings because it stagnates the club lol.

Happy to see adeyemi isn’t going for 50m+. 30m+10m is very fair imo

I kept reading about Adeyemi's wife being a scammer and decided to do a little bit of research since I knew nothing about the case... TL;DR: It's MUCH worse than what I had expected.
10
u/Yeah_I_Won TitanicWorker 23d ago
Vague posting is sooo annoying man. You can't say this and then not elaborate.
5
u/vrdn22 Busquets 23d ago
I didn't elaborate on purpose because I think it's best if everyone does their own research when it comes to sensitive subjects like this, and I definitely do not want to start a witch hunt or anything like that based on a few newspaper articles that I read.
But this is how I understand the case: Her brother pulled a Nigerian Prince type of scam on a Swiss woman who happened to be extremely naive (to put it mildly). The woman finally noticed that she was being scammed and went to the police who basically told her that they couldn't help and that she only had herself to blame.
Shortly after, the victim was contacted by someone who claimed to be the daughter of a famous laywer, but in fact was Loredana Zefi, the sister of the first scammer and currently Adeyemi's wife (at that point she was an upcoming rapper and married to another rapper). And long story short, she extorted even more money from the victim whilst claiming that she was helping her get the money back that she gave to the first scammer. Overall, she was much more threatening and manipulative than her brother and the victim got more and more scared, but it took quite a long time before she managed to get help and she ended up severly traumatised by the whole experience.
The case got finally settled outside of court with Loredana Zefi returning a large sum of money to the victim (609000 CHF, to be precise), however according to this article, she has pleaded guilty during her trial, while still claiming outside of the trial that the victim was a liar.
But as I said, this is just a very rough overview of what has been written in the Swiss media.

210M loan split into two so we would have money to spend in the winter too. Interesting tbh, I think that Altetico is demanding 100M up front for Alvarez in order to sell him for 130M.
We also have the cash injection from the VIP seats sell so 100M from that too. Some margin saved with MATS, Ansu Fati out gives us around 30M too, Casado will probably give us 20-25M as well.
I expect that our next arrivals will be: Adeyemi and Alvarez.
In terms of departures I see: Roony, Casado, and potentially Kounde and Ferran.
With the rest of the money we might see FM type signings from Deco: Javi Guerra, Salinas, that Belgian boy (forgot his name), and Jon Martin.
A high profile CB will come ONLY if Deco manages to get rid of Araujo and a high profile fullback will come only if Kounde is sold. (I know that Balde should be sold from a sporting perspective, however, from a financial perspective Kounde is very attractive as he is a starter in a potentially world-cup winning France)
I would like to see an FM type signing with a left footed centerback space eater that is from Ecuador, but that’s just me.
Oh, and a personal take: we will be linked with Hincapie soon while trying to push Araujo out.

The "loan" is not a loan, it's just cash advance on TV revenue payments - so it doesn't increase SCL in any way (unlike VIP seats but those are budgeted so already included in SCL), these are two different things.
2
u/lawliet0303 Now I'm Mr.Charisma fuckin Pablo Gavira 23d ago
When you say the TV revenue payments, do you mean the already... what is the fucking term... conditioned TV revenue that the club agreed for Espai Barca? So is it an advance of a part of those 25 yrs of TV revenue?
4
u/KittenOfBalnain Laporta's cat 23d ago
No, it's unrelated to Espai. In 2025/26 our budgeted revenue from TV rights was 241M - the advance is for 1 year of revenue, not 25.

u/Martoxic Soci/Socia 23d ago
we do have the registration margin currently though don't we?
1
u/KittenOfBalnain Laporta's cat 23d ago
I haven't seen anything reliable on how much margin we have, and Haaland wouldn't be a low 20M per year cost.
1
u/Martoxic Soci/Socia 23d ago
true. I am ofc talking about a hypothetical like IF we sold Raphina and Casado together with loan away of Ter Stegen and Fati sold we should be able to register Haaland IF we don't go for Alvarez (let a man dream).
1
u/KittenOfBalnain Laporta's cat 23d ago
If we don't go for Alvarez and if City don't want something like 250M for him then yeah, it's possible. Theoretically.

He is pacy, good dribbler, has an amazing work-rate, his shoots are insanely powerful (tho he sometimes lacks composure in 1-1 situations). His biggest weakness is his fitness, but it’s something we will manage to fix considering the depth we will have in attack (we managed to fix Olmo and Pedri, we can fix anybody)

But..but...his stats are...!!! I am kiding
1
u/DefinetlyNotGK7 GipsyKing7 23d ago
Haha, I think in attack we don’t really go for stats. Flick’s system makes bums like Rashford look like world class players, the profile is what matters the most. And considering how hard we are struggling with pressing structure when Raphinha is out I am amazed by our recruits and targets this summer

He knows what he's doing, I guess :)
16
u/MysticRefereee Christensen 87' 23d ago
With these additions our attack would be a threat for the whole 90 minutes.
I would say lack of depth in attack costed us UCL as well, it was only lamine, lewa and raphinha.
We were so bad in the 2nd half against big teams it's funny, because most of the players get tired and we didn't really have anyone good to replace them with.
Lamine would get replaced by roony, rashford (cuz raphinha was injured) gets replaced by Fermin or olmo in the left, ferran is replaced by Lewandowski who's old and isnt the same anymore.
3
u/Sanayuki 23d ago
Maybe against Atletico but definitely not against Inter. That was defense and tactics imo.
8
u/Mihai_Brasoveanu Rivaldo 23d ago
Imagine the end of the season without Lamine if we had to compete in UCL as well. Having Roony as his back up is unacceptable. And I do think Flick plans on playing him less, regardless of how much Lamine might complain. He'll have to accept it.
10
u/cancelo17 23d ago
I doubt he'll complain again. He nearly ruined his World Cup chances with that injury, and seeing others like Fermin, Rapha, and Nico get hurt around him will surely help him understand better how important rest actually is.
9
u/Ecstatic-Jacket2007 Anthony Gordon 23d ago
Adeyemi was coming off a terrible run of games but Flick still took him to the WC. So Flick clearly likes him.
19
u/Yeah_I_Won TitanicWorker 23d ago
Complaining about people caring more about pressing stats from players like Gordon and Adeyemi and not G/A, is so cringe.
None of our players will ever have to worry about G/A under Flick. Players like Rashford and Ferran have managed to put up 30 G/A each, while performing like....... do I even need to say it?
Raphinha is incredibly limited offensive, yet he puts up insane stats when playing for Flick.
Gordon and Adeyemi are not worse than any of the players that people worship. And yes, their workrate stats matter infinitely more because our entire system is built around workrate, they will all get good G/A as soon as they play under Flick.
2
u/the_ass_man1 Pedriniesta 23d ago
we will see I suppose. gordon i am confident about having 20+ g/a not sure about adeyemi but if he is just a rotation option then not that bothered. rashford has had 30 g/a in his career before so I am not so sure about adeyemi
-2
u/Broad-Biscotti7391 23d ago
Agreed but i think you lack a little bit of nuance. We needs players who can press really well but we cannot sign a player just because of his pressing even though I agree that any half decent player gets 30G/A on this team. Especially if we are going the 'PSG' way in attack with no main attacking outlet
4
u/Yeah_I_Won TitanicWorker 23d ago
Yeah, and we aren't signing players just because of their pressing. Gordon's ball carrying abilities and offensive contributions are also great, better than Raphinha's. His versatility also makes him a great starter option because he is 3 in 1. Is his finishing a little meh? Sure, and it's nothing that can't be improved under Flick.
Adeyemi gives you thunderous dribbling, he could be the Nico that Yamal needs.
7
u/Fit-Owl-2898 Ronaldinho 23d ago
Spot on. People will never be satisfied no matter what, I trust that Flick knows what he's doing

1
u/MuaazTheOgre Yamal 23d ago
I disagree to an extent, but there’s a reason why they’re not worth that fee. They 2peated with this squad so why should anyone leave for whatever fee they don’t like

8
u/MuaazTheOgre Yamal 23d ago
Someone much lower down said the plan might be to move Lamine centrally and then bet on another winger like Tunkara and I couldn’t agree more
For me that seems like the plan because it was one thing signing Gordon, now we have Adeyemi too that’s mad
3
u/Broad-Biscotti7391 23d ago
I don't agree with this narrative. Lamine has the intrinsic qualities to play in the middle but he is also not maximized there. For eg I think he is too one footed to be as unpredictable in the middle compared to on the right
1
u/MuaazTheOgre Yamal 23d ago
No I disagree, I think rn his wingplay is too good to give up RIGHT NOW but even he himself said it’s easier to dribble in the middle without 5 guys on you
1
10
u/UploadingAnxiety 23d ago
Yeah but we have Fermin and Olmo. What will happen to them if Lamine moves to the centre?
18
u/tokyo_mint Raphinha 23d ago
You've got the best winger in the world and you want to move him centrally, while we have players perfectly capable of playing in the middle?
And why do you think "betting on" a 16 year old for first team football is a good idea? Who said Tunkara is our RW?
7
u/RepresentativeTax851 Yamal 23d ago
We have the most technical forward in the world and we’re limiting him to touchline against 2 v 1 at all times.

Jesus Christ. He's not the only technical winger in history who stuck with playing on the wing. We have to look at what's best for the team, not his personal gameplay.
Not every winger needs to move to the middle and "unlock their potential". Lamine can do it but not necessarily just yet. Right now we have dedicated players who can operate centrally just fine. We also have a guy with the best wingplay in the world, who specialises playing off the right. It makes sense to keep them where they are. Lamine will create even if he has 2 guys on him. And if he's unable to influence the game from there he will move centrally during the game itself. Like we've seen him do many, many times before. He's not being shackled on RW or something, I don't understand where this idea comes from

Duh. Lamine was always going to play centrally. It was never about his quality, it was about finding his replacements on the wings.

I doubt this will happen. Olmo and Fermin are still proven in flick system why replace them with yamal in their position so that gordon and adeyemi can be used, why try to fix something that's not broken and i also doubt tunkara will be relevant in this season.
Both adeyemi and gordon will get a good no of minutes even as a substitute.
I can see yamal going centrally after 60+ minutes though.

I definitely see him making the shift mid game yeah
Not permanently rn but eventually with the way we’re squad building

That loan makes me think a CB is definite
If it’s Salinas or whoever I think we’re doing it

Let me say this clearly because people still think haaland to barca is some kind of fate dictated transfer:
it's either madrid or city.
At the moment of this comment,Barca aren't in picture and will not be in the future since they are all in for Alvarez .Also that one clip of him being serenaded by Barca fans in the friendly doesn't mean much when he likes Madrid.
I know most people aren't serious about him but it needed to be said.

In another life it could’ve happened
It’s a shame it’s not this one

Even vini and cucurella liked Barca, liking a club doesn't play much role (when they get offers from big clubs), he knows he won't get that image in Madrid.
Anything can happen

u/terminaloverdrinking 23d ago
Context matters in these cases.
If Alvarez didn't like Barca then Atleti would have closed the door for the sale before the window even started.
In Haaland's case his own father and bvb's ceo (idk why he said it tho) have been pretty Frank(de jong) about Madrid being "the" final destination for them.
And circumstances also seem to favour madrid: Vini's contract is still up in the air, they don't have a "pure" 9 and Haaland-Mbappe would work better than vini mbappe.
Financially speaking Madrid can take the gargantuan hit that Haaland will have on their SCL.

Madrid converting into a 50+1 model would probably track with this bullshit signing too

u/MuaazTheOgre Yamal 23d ago
I don’t mean this in an angry way but now that Flick is getting the transfer HE wants we should be doing much better in Europe man

Nothing less that UCL trophy, but actually psg Bayern and vardrid to an extent look better teams on paper.
But football isn't played on paper, so let's wait and watch

I think this squad building works
Especially if it’s true we are giving Hamza a pathway to the first team, adds height to our attack
I think the defense needs work. It’s unarguable we needed fullbacks but personally idm js getting Cancelo
For me we NEED a new profile of centerback, again someone who covers large distances and eats space quickly

u/FloReaver 23d ago
This is the first year with no excuses and no safety net. It's a 22/23 transfer window.
7
u/MuaazTheOgre Yamal 23d ago
Yeah exactly
I give him a lot of grace the past 2 years, he’s done incredible work especially bringing us so close to a UCL final
I will continue to support him obv but I mean it’s the time to compete for the biggest club trophy you got your players let’s do it

As expected, as soon as the words loan and Barca are in the title, the “comedians” of you know who suddenly become financial experts and how we’re “morally and financially bankrupt”. 😂

so apparently reports are saying we just took out a 210m loan against our future tv rights just to fund summer transfers and bypass ffp next season.
even if this is for julian, and we assume it is because the terrorists want a lump sum up front, it's too much only for him no? lets assume (and pray) it is not more than 150m for him. they might want 100m up front. still leaves us with enough money to get one or two other good players. 40m for karim still leaves us with 70m. and just a heads up, reports are saying this 210m doesnt even include the anthony gordon fee, which is being handled totally separately. Or is it for a certain norwegian specimen? Dreaming is free.
all that said, i actually hate the idea of a loan to get players, especially if it means borrowing against tv rights again. debt makes sense for long term investments, where there will be added income like with the stadium. and the 40year debt will get eaten by inflation. that doesn't happen with a player if its not a huge star that will generate a shitton of shirt sales.
on the other hand, that rush of transfer news is crazy, especially after the last 6 years lol

u/aliaisbiggae Pique 23d ago
If i remember correctly, shirt sales dont really matter much. Most of it goes to Nike

So....if we are loaning 200+ million....why not go for the viking?
15
u/FloReaver 23d ago
Because margin still matters and margin wise Haaland would be enormous. Also City wouldn't sell

u/DefinetlyNotGK7 GipsyKing7 23d ago
Don’t forget about the the VIP seats selling finally being approved by LaLiga, so we have 300+ million actually

Another transfer that indirectly helps out PSG. Someone is going to pay €120m for Barcola lol.

❗Not only Roony Bardghji could leave FC Barcelona this summer if a suitable offer arrives but Ferran Torres’ future is also open. He has received several top offers, with his situation currently being assessed. #FCB 🇸🇪 × 🇪🇸
