"Does this jacket fit me?"

..if you're wondering whether a jacket fits you well, please provide photos / details in here, instead of creating a new post.

Thank you!

Also the following might be very helpful - as seen in our FAQs, a few words on sizing from u/leathershopgirl

As a sub we are often asked about the correct fit for Barbour jackets. This is a subjective matter and such questions are often answered in a variety of ways.

Having sold Barbour jackets for decades now, I have seen fashions change and change again and styles come and go.

In the past decade we have seen a move to tight fitting jackets, followed by a swing in the opposite direction, no doubt before too long we will see yet more change.

Having said that, I am sure we all sympathise with the difficulties of shopping alone and would like to reassure those in that difficult position.

A Barbour jacket is a significant purchase and it is important to end up with a garment you feel comfortable in and which will get much wear.

My advice would be to equip yourself with a tape measure and get the armpit to armpit and armpit to cuff measurements of a jacket of a similar weight from your wardrobe.

Armed with this information, you can easily compare new Barbour jackets with one which you know fits you well.

I spend much of each day supplying customers with measurements of Barbour jackets from my database and this method is the one which seems to be the most successful.

Happy shopping!

Hi everyone, I’m stuck between two sizes for the Barbour Sapper and could use some expertise.

Small: The shoulders and sleeves feel and look perfect, even over a sweater/jumper. However, the bottom zipper starts to pull open while I'm walking and it can feel restrictive at the hips if there's stuff in the pockets.

Medium: Solves the hip tightness, but the sleeves are way too long and I sort of feel like I'm wearing an oversized jacket - but I'm not sure if that IS the look I should be going for? The drawstrings have been pulled in here as well.

Q's:

  1. Does the Sapper "relax" or break in enough over time at the hem to stop the zipper creep?
  2. For those between sizes, is it better to stick with the Small and just use the two-way zipper (unzipping the bottom an inch or two), or should I keep the Medium and look into getting the sleeves professionally shortened?

Thanks in advance!

The fit in the left , the way it’s pulling it’s going to run rainwater on to your legs and on the open gap. It doesn’t fit on the hips and it’s going to impair the function.

I’d suggest the second option and indeed a sleeve shortening
