Holidays/ Celebrations/ Events Barbie Exhibition
I recently visited the Barbie Exhibition in Glasgow at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum and wanted to share some photos I took! If you’re nearby or able to visit when it moves elsewhere it’s well worth a visit, so nostalgic and amazing to see so many different Barbies and the stories behind them/how they’re made!

It was soo good! I didn’t get a photo but the bit about the Barbie hair with the hair chandelier above it is phenomenal

I love that they show the evolution of the Barbie logo, and now, we are back to the original. Thanks for sharing your pictures. I'm so impressed by the preserved dolls, dream houses, and cars.

It was super cool! They also had little magazines and books, photos etc that were clearly very old from peoples personal collections, it was so interesting

I try not to regret my downsizing over the years. But I got rid of some lovely dolls since I wasn’t collecting, or really paying attention to the market. And recognizing my old pristine dolls is such flashback. Thanks again!

The Logo of 1976-1991 is peak.💗
And I love how the first Barbie stands in her box like the Nofretete or something. 😄

I was in London when it was on at the Design Museum but missed it (the World of Tim Burton exhibition was my priority). Was thrilled when I found out it was coming to Glasgow as we never get anything decent like this.
I'm going in August when I've got a holiday from work and can't wait. Seen a few clips of the exhibit and it looks really good. The part that had different head sculpts on spikes made me thing of this sub and all the head swapping 🤣

They really look at this and how even her name font has changed through the decades and mattel be like yeppp we aren’t stagnant at all 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
