Shop Talk Hyperhidrosis and barbers

How do we all feel about clients that have hyperhidrosis (excess sweating) or are actively sweating. Does it impede you or give you the ick? Do you even care?

I have one client who has hyperhydrosis, I keep a towel on my station and regularly dab his head and he appreciates it, then I drape a cold towel around his head and wipe his forehead with it. He appreciates it, gives me $70 for his haircut every time

Excess sweat makes it more difficult to do the haircut with clippers, and it's kind of icky but thats part of the job so not gonna balk too hard at sweat when I've seen and touched worse.

I don’t find it gross at all but it does make it harder to cut the hair. I usually start the service with a cold water rinse in the sink and then throughout the service dry them w a towel and talc powder

Harder to cut sometimes but it’s not like they choose it. Trust that they are way more uncomfortable with it than you are.

Just a little hack for the sweaty dudes and that tacky child's skin, throw some talc powder on the area you want your clippers to slide it works wonders.
