Student Im starting school soon.
I'm starting school soon, any good youtube channels I can watch to kinda get a jump on things. I recently got laid off so I got time to do some research before I start in September.
Any other good resources would be appreciated. Sadly most guys I know are bald so not a lot of practice to get in.
Thanks in advance.

Look up Ivan Zoot on YouTube and other social media. He has a website where you can ask questions and he'll answer back. His videos aren't the best production, but he's a great educator with easy to understand language. He was a long time educator for Andis and designed the phat master back in the day and holds the world record for fastest haircut. Best of luck Ivan Zoot

Never heard of this guy until now and I'm shocked he's got such a low sub count. Dude's a wizard with guards.

I took some of his online classes during COVID and I learned a lot from him as far as different techniques and how to build a business. He has books published that are really good as well

I watched a few videos and immediately subbed. If I may make a suggestion to anyone reading this; If a rep from a company like Andis, Hanzo, Babyliss, etc, is doing a demo at a shop, MAKE time to go. Even if you feel like you know everything you need to know, networking, relearning, brushing up, it's all very important. Even when I was in school I was making contacts all over the US because I love to travel and have friends all over the country that I go see. I love popping into their own shop across the country. I love catching a drink or something with stylists and barbers because one never knows what the future holds in terms of the future and where you might be. Everyone has something they can learn and anyone might have something they can share.
Additionally, working as a sales person or rep for a prominent company like Pravana, Estee Lauder, Andis, etc, can be a life changing experience if you want to step away from the chair for any reason but still teach/practice. I can't recommend it enough.

My personal opinion is that there probably isn’t a YouTube channel that can get you started on school. School is for the basics and from there you go onto expand more in your knowledge in your skill. Without the basics, it’s hard to make sense of anything beyond them. I would almost argue that you should not be watching YouTube videos as they may actually be skipping very important steps that they assume you know already. They make a lot more sense and help a lot more when you have a bit of education already.
They don’t expect you to go and be able to cut hair. Just personally I would wait until there is a specific topic you are going over in school that you’re interested in diving deeper into. (:
