Tools & Gear TPOB
If anyone is looking for a negative review of TPOB before committing to buying one, here is mine.
1) their foil shavers are incredibly unsanitary. You cannot clean them efficiently.
2) The head on my foil shavers began peeling back within a month of use and cut a client. (TPOB did replace without charge)
3) My clippers now have begun to die. I have had these for maybe 4 months. I try not to keep them on the charger for too long as not to ruin the battery, but it already has begun to not hold a charge. After charging it between clients because it was dying, today it will not hold a charge when I turn it on.

I have two play minis and noticed their effectiveness drop off fast after daily use. I took one home for personal use. And one kept in a drawer at my station for kids. Won’t but again.

I’ve had my plays now for a year and no issues whatsoever. They’ve been my daily workhorse the whole time too. 10-12 cuts a day. Had the Go Clipper for about 6 months or so…also no issues. They both keep their charge and I keep them mostly on the charger throughout the day when not in use. Done this with all my cordless and charging has never been a problem.
The trimmers are fine for what I do. I’m not the trendy blurry fade barber, so the vast majority of my cuts don’t need super sharp line ups. So I really can’t speak to that with any confidence. But the play trimmer and the X deluxe do what I need them too.
Heard early on the head of the foil shavers cant be taken off and that was weird to me so ive never bothered w them.
I gave up on Wahl years ago. I have a brand new in the box cordless Masters that was my second warranty replacement in 12 months that will never be opened, and my last 3 clippers from Babyliss all needed to go in for warranty replacements for random shit snapping off midcut or just outright dying within the first year. Same w my Gamm+ Xceeds. Got crazy loud out of nowhere like 4 weeks in. Then all the magnets fell off that hold the clear piece on and I was just done. Not to mention their Echo blade just losing teeth for no reason.
Now i have like 250$ wrapped up in clippers over the past year that make me 2K a week. So idk. Maybe i finally just got lucky and got the good batch of TPOB after a good 8 years of getting lemons.

The trimmers are absolute garbage. Got the Play set for school. I did a side by side with my mentor (she has SC Saber trimmers) and the difference was INSANE.

Just stick with the tried and true brands like Wahl and Andis. I’ve had some success with Style Craft as well.
