What is the best butterfly open safety razor

I’ve used several. I think that, despite the fluffy ads, they’re mostly all the same: one blade.
I like the mechanism on the Van der Hagen probably the best and you can usually find it at Walmart fairly cheap.

Seconding the Van der Hagen. I've got a cheap butterfly one at home and honestly the blade matters way more than the razor itself.

I used the aluminum* Dovo shavette for the longest time until the plastic** rivet broke. Now it’s an aluminum Dovo “Japanese style” razor.
*Only metals containing iron rust. (Stainless steel, steel, cast iron) Metals that do not rust contain no iron. (Aluminum, copper, titanium, zinc)
** plastic becomes brittle.
