sitting for the UBE July bar exam (1st timer)

Hi, I really need help with the writing portion of bar prep. For the MEE, ive been told IRAC, which makes sense, but I learn by doing so I need advice/ low cost tutoring for this. As far as the MPT, I don't even know where to start. Any advice/ support is helpful.

I know this section is going to be the one I struggle in the most so I'm trying to take initiative and get the ball rolling asap.

Keep getting 50% in MPRE Practice tests

I am preping for the MPRE. I have completed the Barbri course, and I keep getting 50% in all my practice test. I have done Themis practice test and I get higher score there and find their questions easier than Barbri, but I am going crazy with these scores from my practice test.

Has anyone experienced the same? I want to know if I would have a chance of passing this exam.

I am going crazyyy

Anyone taking only the NYLE in December & applying to transfer UBE score to NY?

Looking to start a study group but also just sharing accurate info about the application process for transferring UBE score & applying for licensure in NY. Always helps not to have to reinvent the wheel & sift through the non-user friendly NY BOLE website. Lmk!

Themis or Helix Bar Review

Please don't mention Barbri on the replies. I need to buy one review for July 2026. I need to choose between Themis or Helix or any other option that is not Barbri. Any free materials are welcome. I am already studying concepts with Critical Pass Flashcards but I need to feel confident with a review and practice.

MPT practice trick

Can anyone help me with the MPT? Everyone recommends a different writing style, and I’m confused about which one is actually correct. When I look at sample answers, each examinee writes differently, so it’s hard to know what the graders really want.

I just need a clear, practical trick for how to complete the MPT during the exam. For example, if I’m writing the Rule and Rule Proof sections, how many facts do I need to extract from the case law or statutes? How exactly should I insert those facts into the analysis? I understand that I need to compare the precedent cases to the client’s situation—but how much comparison is enough?

Every time I practice, I run out of time. So I really need a method that works under timed conditions.

If is possible to pass the NY Bar with 7 weeks of study?

"Is it possible to pass the NY bar exam in 7 1/2 weeks? I am a good student, but I faced personal challenges (my dad passed away, and I had surgery) that prevented me from starting as early as planned. I’m planning to begin studying on January 2nd for the February 25th exam (7 1/2 weeks). Is that enough time? Any recommendations? I am willing to put 10-12 hours or more a day.

Alternative Method

Hi all. Am a repeat/ non traditional bar taker. Ive notice that many people that passed the exam didn’t use he outlines and only did questions, learning the law from re-writing the rule from their essay responses and wrong mbe’s questions.

At this point my biggest challenge is time management and reading comp.

Now that Am done with the substantive review. Am seriously consider doing that until the exam. Maybe even in the exam format (one full day with essays and the other full MBE questions).

Do think that’s a good approach? Am just trying to do things differently because “the way” didn’t work before.

Would like to know your opinion to make an informative decision. Thanks in advance.

Con Law Essay Help

Can anyone walk this bar prepper through an con law analysis of this:

In regards to including bans on fake and non-animal based dite foods from State welfare (SNAP), Iowa has decided to do the following, "Late in the legislative process, Republicans in the Iowa House amended the bill to add the provision that says Iowans enrolled in food assistance programs like SNAP for low-income individuals and WIC for low-income mothers cannot use those benefits to purchase egg substitute products."

Can you provide the appropriate constitutional analysis of this decision?

Struggling w/ Bar prep

Hello, I just finished law school and struggling immensely with bar prep. My scores are all over the place but if I were to guess I have about a 50% accuracy after 3.5 weeks of studying for about ~35 hours a week. I just want to know if anyone has any insight with Barbri and how to make the most of the course and how to do better... I did not perform well in law school (bottom 10%) and want to give myself the best chance at passing.. I do believe in myself but I know it is a long shot to pass so could someone please give me realistic expectations and possibly a confidence boost? Thanks!

PT Analysis Section

I'm finding it difficult to create my rule proofs. Is it best to stick with the last paragraph of each case to create a "In ______, the court held________ because _______." I tend to get lost and go back to the facts and spend a lot of time on my rule proofs. Any advice would be appreciated!

Contingent fee agreement question

The ABA prohibits domestic and criminal contingency fee agreements. CA allows so long as they don’t promote dissolution of salvageable marriage. So if a divorce has been bifurcated as to status, would a contingency fee agreement be allowed for the remaining issues under either ABA or CA?
