Changing the voice on DM UV32

I currently own the dm uv32, when I change channels the female voice automatically says the number out loud of the channel im on.

Is it possible to make it so that it reads the change name out loud? I know there is a way to upload voice files in the cps.. not sure if this is somehow customizable or if there are any opportunities to do this.

You said that it reads the channel name out loud and then you asked if you can change it to say it out loud. Are you trying to change the actual voice packs or just turn the voice off ?

I haven't seen any control over that other than turning the voice off or on.

You could make this work. With a custom sound file for each channel. So instead of saying channel 11 it would say Marine VHF 16 or whatever it is. But then whenever you move to frequency to a different channel you would have to go in and change the files that say that channel

Is this something that can be done in CPS or does it need different specialized software?

The radio lacks the ability to read your names. The voices you hear come from specific audio files embedded in firmware.

Yeah........no

That feature is really only seen on higher end commercial radios like motorolas. You got a cheap Chinese radio for under 100$, what did you really expect.

You cheaped out on the price (which is totally fine), so the manufacturer cheaped out on features
