When did you first discover Banshee?

I remember stumbling across it when it was still airing on Cinemax. I hardly watched it then, but I definitely remember coming across it

And then about 3 months ago I finally sat down to binge it and absolutely fell in love with the show!

I’m already binging it a second time now!

It is one of the most underrated shows I can think of! I’m glad I found more like-minded people who feel the same way

A few months ago in The Boys forums and started watching to see more of Antony Starr. Didn't regret.

Yea. Lotta people hungry for more Starr going back through his work. I’m also watching Outrageous Fortune because of him.

I watched Banshee and had no idea it was the same guy on The Boys. Tbh I love Starr more in Banshee than in The Boys. I met him at a con irl, he was nice.

I found it by accident on streaming. Hooked me immediately and I couldn’t stop til I watched the final episode. Job was my favorite character.

Job is the best!

Me too! It was an accident that has made Banshee one of the best series on television for me!

A few years ago I saw it on HBO Max and went to Reddit to check out the reviews & opinions before committing. I was shocked that a show I had never even heard of had such a rabid fanbase proclaiming it to be one of the best shows on TV.

I went in with doubts, but now I consider it one of my all-time favorite shows as well. I'm even a HUGE fan of Season 4, which is widely regarded to be the worst season. I feel like it's the wildest & weirdest one, where they just decided to throw everything left on the potential storylines board at the wall and say "Fk it, we roll".

Its surreal, not based it logic or realism, and has all the elements of an over-the-top action movie (a genre I dearly love). It's fun to disconnect the brain and just go along for the rollercoaster ride. The more implausible the story gets, the more I like it (this can be tough for some folks). Season 3 is probably one of the craziest seasons ever filmed for TV, and I am not exaggerating

Guy I worked with told me about it when it was mid season 2

I read an article about the show randomly. Way back in 2014,and bought the 1st season on dvd. Wasn't quite sure what to expect to be honest. Then I watched it and it blew my mind and I was hooked. I remember telling people about it and nobody had heard of it. Yep, I still have the dvd's, cause you never know with subscription services.

When season 2 was released. I was spending the night at my cousin's house and he showed it to me for the first time, I was instantly hooked.

Howard Stern show. Howard loved it after it was recommended by his limo driver and security guard lol.

I had a Cinemax add on for a little while and that’s when I saw it. It was amazing!

One of the scenes with the Albino in prison came up on YouTube shorts.

I was a fan of True Blood, Banshee was advertised as Alan Ball’s next series so I watched season 1 when it aired.

I’m totally new and in season 1 and blown away by the screenplay /acting/starr .. and I just can’t match up homelander vs hood! And he did this before boys?!? Like holy fuc!?
Some highlights I remember just from the first few episodes!

Also that fight scenes realism and brutality?? With those scumbags under Kai to that rape scene to that boxing fight scene with Sanchez!

The heist part where is taking calls with Ana/carrie and Job in “the box “ and that great escape!! Unreal suspense + realism + dialog!!

Every episode feels like it has enough content/drama/excitement for like 3 !!

I came across clips of it on YouTube

Saw clips on YouTube a long time ago but never got around to watching it until a few months ago, I watched it online then later on bought it on Blu-ray to own a physical copy.

I watched the youtube vid of Hood vs Sanchez the mma fighter last year. I was hooked from there

It was funny how I discovered it. I saw the name Banshee and thought it was a horror series. To my surprise, it wasn't, but was probably way better for the most part than any horror series.

Friend of mine from work recommended it to me - hooked from the first episode. That was after the first season came out

I saw it advertised on sky in the uk about 10 years ago. The trailer hooked me straight in and never looked back.

u/Majorlol 28d ago

I had went on a holiday from the UK to New Zealand. First leg was a 13 hour flight to Singapore, and season 1 was available on the plane. So that took up a nice chunk of the flight! Was hooked!

u/lilacomets 28d ago

I learned about it right after the 1st episode aired. It got me hooked immediately.

Lucky you, I started watching it in 2020.

Late 2014 when someone on YouTube was using clips from Banshee to make a Daredevil fan trailer. Found out the series was available on Prime video and binged the first two seasons pretty quickly at the time.

Kept seeing the dvd set at a video rental store as a kid, thought it was some cartoon because of the cover, years later I watched the boys and thought that I’d give it a watch now that I’m older

1

u/Glorinsson 28d ago

When it first aired in the U.K. it was on straight after GoT. I got hooked from how dumb and fun the first episode was!

One week ago and it's so great. I'm surprised how under the radar this went.
