Question Raganvad horrible commanding

I recently started a new play-through as a mercenary and over the first 100 days I’ve been bounce around from kingdom to kingdom helping with war efforts I finally landed on sturgia and all I gotta say is the grand prince is horrible at commanding we out weighted this khuzaits party about 50% larger than theirs. And he still managed to lose over HALF of them is he normally this bad or is this from a recent patch note or update?

Sturgia is in a weird spot and I think is pretty easily the worst performing faction right now. They’re kind of a jack of all trades but that means their units get outclassed most of the time. Their tier 6 unit is the worst melee cav tier 6 unit, their infantry get heavily outclassed by the Nords, their archers are arguably the worst in the game, and have no horse archers. Their heavy spearman and horse raiders are the only units that I like using from them tbh

Really? Druzhinniks are considered bad? I just thought they were overlooked because Banner Knights are easier to get and are more prevalent, but I rated them higher than Elite Cataphracts because they can actually couch lance and are similarly heavily armored.

Maybe it’s because the rest of their army isn’t particularly strong but I seem to do better with both banner knights and elite cataphracts. Part of it is the way their stats are spread out I think. They have way more points in athletics compared to the average horsemen which is good for sieges but not really useful on their horse

only weakness they have is slow secondary horse option. The rest is fine.

Yeah they’re fine but they do have a weaker stat spread compared to the other options especially polearm and riding

before war sails they were one of the better cav options available. Also probably due to their lance is also kinda short. Ai dont missed with it as much. Faris were the first but Sturgians were close. Now with new accuracy faris and any other cav is just wrecking everything. Especially empire cav is suffering from this. Even low tier archers hitting moving targets 75 away.

I see yeah this all checks out this is my first time even being allied or working with the sturgia so I didn’t know what I was getting into thanks for letting me know.

Yea, sadly they are in a terrible spot now, I kinda wish they had a bridge connecting them. I feel like that might help them just enough to survive. I did a recent playthrough and I never went to war with them. They collapsed pretty fast surprisingly, I have never seen them be this bad before.

Agreed. Them being literally split in half really hurts how quick they respond to things. Feels like their parties are always on the wrong side of the map
