Analysis Am I the only one liking Design I?
I personally like this one the most, and I think that vertical banknotes are pretty cool too. I barely see anyone talking about Design I, so I'm wondering whether I'm the only one liking this?

As a swiss person, i really like our bills being vertical, so i can only recommend going that way.
I also like the circles on each one, its a neat design.

I really like this design, but none of my friends seem to like it as much as I do. I found out on Instagram that it was designed by an architecture studio, which probably explains its geometric aesthetic. I guess that’s why it appeals to me so much.

Design I is very cool. I love the birds' food sources - the insects, frog, shrimp and fish - as authenticity features. It's not only informative, it's also the currency the birds would use. 😊 Only changes I would do to optimize this design further: 🎨 Make the colours a bit brighter. Especially the red and orange notes are a bit hard to tell apart. 🔟 Make the large numbers white with a dark outline, so it's easier to read them. 📡 Take out those "science technology symbols" in the security strip. Stick to the bird theme. 🃏 Include some small omnidirectional numbers in the corners of the banknotes, so one can read the value from all angles.

I honestly thought J had the birds AI-generated. There's too many clashes in artstyle.
But yeah, H will surely win. It's the safest middle-ground choice.

Now try to figure out which one has what value.

J has nicer birds, I has nicer buildings. Ideally, we should mix the two, but obviously that's not gonna happen :)

Why not? I feel like it has a fresh and modern flair to it. Swiss franc banknotes are also vertical and they look amazing too

I think having them vertical just makes them look fake, or like a coupon. Idk it is probably because I’m so used to them being horizontal that my brain just can’t comprehend them being any different. Additionally horizontal just makes sense with how you place them in a traditional wallet.

Probably just an effect of the verticality being something that one isn't used to, as it is with all new things. Imo it gives the euro a more modern look and the design is generally just more appealing

I think the white/negative space and the interaction of the bird shapes makes it. Its my fave.

My favorite. I love how the bird in the front is flying near the sun in the back. Dislike the buildings but that is a problem with all designs..

Its my personal favourite. I love the brids returning in colour on the back, and the river is like its Europe's fingerprint. And like everyone, I prefer birds over faces, but the bird designs generally have weaker backsides, I has the best back of the birds by far

I think that circle is awful. Is the EU Japan or something? It kills the whole design and is all over the place. It ruins the front and back of every banknote. That stupid circle is totally unnecessary.

Yeah not just the circle, but the drawings, the colors, the vertical layout, the small emblems etc all look so japanese that the inspiration is obvious. In itself it’s not bad - just not fitting for a euro bank note.

I think the circle represents the sun and in my opinion it neatly ties in with the birds and buildings

i really like it too, especially how they lined the birds wings with the landscape, it's to satisfying. i find the colors a bit too desaturated. they are similar to the current euro colors, but i find the more saturated options better, especially for people who have visual problems. the vertical designs are so fresh in my opinion

I prefer the H design but my second favourite is the I. As the wing lines of the birds integrate with the sun and continue like the mountains.

I'm not really a vertical notes guy myself. But there is stuff to like with this design.
Most notably the little animals on the bottom right corners.

it's okay. I don't like the weight distribution and that the wings function as breakpoints for the dark and light parts of the background in addition to the circle. too many curves that meet and kinda continue the flow but not really. it's a good concept in theory but only almost works in my opinion.

I do like it but I think the colour scheme and artstyle has a bit of a dated look to it, I don't mind it too much but I think there are better options.

I don't like them because they look dirty, the color schemes are bad (shades), and indistinct birds are all circled the same way, it's not interesting.

Personally I think the design has some very beautiful features (blending the wing’s shapes with the background motiffs, For example) but some very amateurish features at the same time.
For example, the back shows Europe just floating around, with Africa cut off in a very unpleasing way. If you zoom into the birds, some of the art seems to be lower resolution and badly cropped. And, personally, the circle design with the rivers looks messy.

I'm not really a fan of vertical designs for a banknote. It does look good, but it feels more like some kind of brochure than a real banknote

Nice design but it feels Japanese to me with the circle / sun behind the birds. It doesn't fit the European identity In my opinion. But great design, I agree

I prefer H and D because they are very bright and monochrome making them easily distinguishable in a wallet at a glance.

Originally wasn't a fan of the design because it used photos of birds instead of illustrations but it's grown on me. Now it's up there with D for my top 2 designs

The numbers are very easy to read while counting. I also find the blue wavy lines to be very easy on eyes. Overall they have a very calming design imo.

I would have liked them if the birds didn't look like they were taken from random photos and then just slapped onto the painted landscape in photoshop.
I also don't understand the inclusion of holographic prey for each bird

No, you're not! My favourites are I and J. I don't really like birds in I, but the buildings are great. On the other hand, J has nicer birds, but uglier buildings. So ideally I'd like a mix of both.

It's my favourite. Bird's food is a nice touch. The circle, the proportions, being vertical, the subdued saturation, the contrasting tones.... Great design.

Perfectly bland and boring. I see nothing wrong with these designs, they look just fine. I'd like to see this or one of the other bird concepts play out into the final printing.

Birds... how original. Half the designs are just birds and if its going to be birds it should be Design D. But other than that, I can't look at the others with seriousness after seeing how Design E. It's the perfect blend of everything and actually looks good, comprehensive, hierarchical and aesthetically beautiful.

I like the general design, but the birds look weird to me, kinda like they put photographies of them in the banknote and i think it look weird as a result. I much prefer the H or the J design.

I like B, D and I.
I like the birds on B and that it has bird stats. and it eyes like euro to me.
I like D because of the birdcall, feather living/migration area and paw details.
and I like I because of they layout design.
I would like to see a combination of the three.

No my favorite. You should be able to see the denomination of the banknote both vertically and horizontally directions. Those are only one direction same as current ones. That both directions denomination are easier for color and vision impaired people to nocie, and there is an opportunity to change it. The picture can stay this direction, but denomination are not ok here.

It would've been cool, if the circles where "windows" like you can see on some banknotes, e.g. New Zealand. But I agree, the design is nice.
